I have a 60" belly mower. The gearbox will not stay tightly secure. Would this cause my middle blade to break? Do you have any suggestions on how to keep it tightly secure?
Thanks,

What do you mean that it won't stay tightly secure? Are the bolts backing out? Is the deck flexing where the gearbox mounts? If you are dealing with blades breaking, I'd assume it has to do with a loose gearbox.

Why wont the gear box stay tight? Holes striped? Need new bolts? Lock washers? Lock Tite?

And like Hodge said, that is likely your blade problem.

I'm thinking at this point you might have struck something hard with the deck and tweaked the deck a little bit and put a bend in it some where. Check and inspect the deck and see if theres a crack in the deck or a bend somewhere near the gearbox.

Thanks, I will try new bolts and Lock Tite>
