This is a new to me B6200E. It has a mid mount mower deck. When you put the hydraulic lever in the lift position, the arms raise and lift the deck.
When it reaches the upper limit of the arms, the lever stays in the lift position rather than popping back into the neutral position like it should. Any ideas on what is causing this and how to correct it?

My 6100E is kinda finicky, sometimes mine will pop back to "neutral" on it's own other times it gets stuck in the lift position and I have to return it back by hand. I don't have a mid mower so I have no idea what causes it.

I'm usually quickly reminded its stuck up because I hear the hydraulics whining...

Eric, that is exactly the same thing this is doing. The MMM is raised by a linkage connected to the 3 pt hitch arms. It has to be a spring loaded detent ball or something that holds it in the lift position until it tops out and the back pressure puts it back in neutral. I thought if it was something easy, I would try to adjust it. Otherwise, I will just live with it.

My tractor has a rod with spring loaded stops that return the lever to neutral when it reaches full up or down. I keep the rod lubed, but the slide stills catches sometimes, and pulls the lever back to neutral. All of this is external- no internal detent ball.

Hodge, you are right. My B7100 has the same linkage and I use it to set the depth and height of the attachments. So, I just went down to look at the B6200 again. The linkage is missing!! It has a place just like the B7100 for the linkage and at one time you can tell by the missing paint that it was there, but now it is missing. I will have to see what it will cost to buy the parts or make the rod and plate and just buy the stops. Thanks for clearing out the cob webs in my memory bank!

Huh. I got something right, for once... I responded to a post today on another forum, and totally missed that it was about a B1700, not a 7100. I rambled on and on in my infinite wisdom, to only be blathering about something totally off base.

Hodge, I have done that, too. I usually don't realize it until I have posted the message and someone points out I am off base!!

The parts are called the Rod Check Assy. It runs $37 new, but Marshall Machinery up in PA has a used Assy, so I requested a quote. I have had good luck with them before.
