Hi Everyone! thank you for accepting me into the site. I own an old B7100D 4x4 - with a front loader. Just got it - and anxious to fix some 'funnies' on it. I look forward to the wisdom and experience you all have had keeping these tractors at work. The big issue at the forefront is that the battery is hooked up with positive ground? And the wiring from the ignition switch has been a bit cooked due to rubbing the linkage below it. So off to the repair and replace races we go! I don't know the year of my tractor - but the serial#B7001-63579

If you wish real help, your title of the posting should be detailed enough to direct folks to go there. Off hand, I would first try for a shop manual, possibly at Messicks on line.

Ok - I am a little confused !!! You say it is B7100D but the serial number is B7001......mmmmm something aint right there.

the B7100 D looks to be a late 79 model .....

1976: 10001
1977: 13931
1978: 36646
1979: 54221:)
1980: 64448
1981: 70678
1982: 74217
1983: 76009
1984: 77309
1985: 78435

if it IS a B7001 ....then it is a whole different animal!:D

Thanks for the welcome and the links. I appreciate it! I have already fixed the 'positive ground' issue. My rectifier started smoking though  - and not sure about that problem yet. I have 4 wires total including ground. A red and 2 light blue/gray wire connectors. Are the 2 light blue/gray wires the same? According the schematic - I saw nothing significant.. but I am sure they are! It is possible they were hooked up backwards.

And YES - My tractor is a B7001. Thank you for the info on finding out the year. It is older than I thought!

The 2 dynamo wires are the same, they are interchangeable.

On the rectifier frying it sounds like it was hooked up backwards.
