Ran across a l2501 with 150 hours, front end loader and 60” land pride box blade in excellent condition (garage kept) for $15,500. Just bought 13 acres that is wooded and will need something to make trails, better access for a camper. Will be our retirement property. Just don’t know much about tractors but learning as much as i can. Also eyeing a b2680 with only a front end loader with similar miles for $14,000. Somebody please steer me straight! Thanks in advance

Bx2680 or B2650 perhaps?

Is the L2501 HST or gear drive? Skid steer quick attach front loader option? What tire option?

I cannot give you any sort of valuable opinion, as I have never owned either model.
The good news is, that MANY folks will likely be along soon to give you plenty of VERY helpful information.

Like Ken was saying need more info.

Because there is a HUGE difference between an;
L2501F 2wd
L2501 DT 4wd geared
L2501 4wd HST

And there is no B2680, so check the number again.

L2501HST is a lot better suited for acreage, and is not a bad deal at all.

I love my 2501.

That price seems pretty good to me, However if it does not have the SSQA, that would be a deal breaker for me.

I love using my pallet forks and grapple so much that I would not even consider a machine without SSQA.

I use the forks probably 10 to 1 Vs. the bucket. (maybe even more)

That's a personal "hang up" though.

If I were stuck on Gilligan's Island and had to pick one machine to bring with me, it would be my 2501 with the back hoe and forks.

The 2501 is HST. Not sure about the quick attach. The tires are not hybrid.
The L2501 is hands down more tractor. The only plus for the B is mid-mount PTO but apparently it does not have the mower to go with it.

I can offer some context on what I paid for my L2501 in Nov of 2019. My tractor currently has 175 hours.

L2501 HST , loader with 66 inch light duty bucket, SSQA option. R4 industrial tires and dealer installed Landpride 3rd function kit. Third function kit at the time dealer installed was about $1100 if memory serves me.
Total before sales tax was $19,100.

I understand prices in the last 3 1/2 years have risen substantially . IF I was going to sell my tractor as a private sale, not dealer trade in, I would price it close to that original purchase price.

I am biased but as TheOldHokie says "hands down" on the L2501 compared to the BX2680 for the prices you mentioned. JMHO

If I understood the string, the difference between the two is a little more than the OP first post…it’s actually a BX, correct? so to me your comment stands and makes the choice even easier…L is a lot more machine than a BX. I’ve had both a BX and a B. And to me if playing in the woods which i do, I’d take the one with the most ground clearance…so my vote goes to the L if those are the only two you are considering…there’s really not a close comparison of the BX and L in terms of capability…they are different machines with different purposes IMO.

Just as another data point

My quote was from December 2021 and I took Delivery I think in March of 2022

L2501 HST Base Price $17,167.00
66" QA Square bucket $700.00
HD FEL with SSQA $4,400.00
BB2560 Box Blade $1400.00

Total of $23,667

I have not kept up with prices since then, so I can't tell you what a "2024" model is, but I bet its close to 10-20% more.

Edit: I have about 165 hours on it as of last week.

The L2501 should serve you well. Definitely not the BX for you. SSQA is nice, but is something you can add later.

Regardless of what you get, you have to be careful in the woods. There are a lot of hoses, wires etc. under there prone to get snagged by vines, sticks, branches etc.

Good luck.

It does have the SSQA, 4WD HST, bucket and land pride 60” box blade for $15,500 with about 150 hours. From this group which has been fantastic by the way. I am getting a good deal?

Assuming everything in good working order, yes that is very good deal IMO. 150hrs is basically new…it’s had the first service, so, so long as everything checks out and the machine has not been abused that’s a good price. If want a belly mower it doesn’t have a mid PTO. If don’t need the mid PTO, then IMO I think if that is the size and capability of machine you want for your uses (to me that’s the question), I would not delay to buy that…it may not last. The L250x is the dollar for value model in my mind in terms of what getting…and at that price you found for few hours, seems real good to me. If that is what you want (that’s really the question) better move on it quick IMO (like NOW). I think even if you get and decide you want something else after using a season or so, you can easily get your money back (assuming it’s in good shape and not abused) for something else. Good luck. I hope it works out. 🥃

Are the hst, hydraulic and oil filters still gray? Does the fuel in the filter bowl look good?
