What size is the hole in the drawbar? Is the drawbar fairly hefty or should I invest in something else?

Most are very strong not some low grade steel.

It is rare to see one bent. The only one or two I have seen bent were on super large tractors towing liquid manual spreading tank wagons and someone turned too tight.

very hefty, I could not imagine hooking up the tires well enough to do any damage at all.

It's possible that the paint is making the hole smaller, Just drop down to a 11/16 pin, still plenty strong enough.

Hmm, I did buy the 3/4" and it will not quite fit....
I can't remember what size clevis pin I got but I did have to use the dremel and grind it just a smidge. I did not do it enough to compromise the pin strength. Had to go with the large clevis because a smaller one did not have a pin long enough to work on the draw bar, so you have a couple of issues: length and diameter of pin. My situation may be unique because my options are not plentiful, rural area, and I have to make do with what I can find.
