Does Kubota offer for sale a spanner wrench that fits the top ring on the fuel separator? Reason I ask is, on my M's the separator is almost impossible to access (the top ring) with the loader installed. Oil and fuel filters are bad enough but the separator is impossible to loosen. Just no way to get any purchase on it.

I'd buy one in a second if they offered it.

Flip, might be worth checking with a local motorcycle shop. That top ring is about the same size as the rings on adjustable shocks on dirt bikes and such. May be a dead end but might be a homerun.

Never thought of that. Might be a doable alternative. I searched the net for one, none exist which kind of surprises me. I cannot be the only one with access issues.

Even tried my oil filter pliers, just not enough room to get a grip and no swing room at all.

I use the Channel lock model 209 filter pliers. All of The M series are little hard to get to the filters. I find these work pretty good.

I have those and a pair of locking (vice grip ones) as well. Isn't enough room between the loader mount and the separator ring to swing them to turn the ring. If I remove the loader it's not an issue but removing the loader is a chore on them. Going to check out a shock ring tool and maybe a hook spanner too. Kind of surprised that there isn't a 'specialty tool' made to remove the ring. I rarely get any 'gunk' in the separator, I use clean filtered fuel and an additive. Never seen the 'water ring' move at all and nothing in the bowl either.

Flip you have two tractors with identical fuel filters. Simply fab a wrench up. Use whatever materials you have in your "bone pile" and get busy.

Have the lever as long as you choose so it clears your loader. Put the lever in the center of the connecting piece and a stud/bolt on each side you can use it to also tighten a bit. The lever just presses against the stud/bolt to provide pressure in either direction.

If you want to get fancy cut a square hole in the bottom piece you you can use a 3/8" ratchet for the lever, or maybe a 1/4", since not much leverage is required.
