I broke the outside bearing twice. The first time at 1350 hours hauling heavy clay. The second time at 1900 hours moving snow with the bucket. The second time was a light load. I don't understand the second time. I am using 80W 90 oil. It was full.

The first time was 600 lbs. of concrete on the 3 point.

The second time was 1200 lbs. of concrete on the 3point.

The tires are not loaded.

Are the front rims turned the wrong direction give it to wide of a stance?
If not, then it sounds like there is some other damage that you not catching that's causing it to fail, have you replaced the inside bearing too?

The rims are in the narrow way. The inside bearing seams fine.

It it fails again, I would be replacing the inside bearing too as that could be you underlying cause.

radial ball bearings work excellent for radial loads (perpendicular to the shaft they support, but usually quite poor for axial loading

for that, if the tractor is often used on hillsides or ditches, that can reduce the bearing's useful life. Or frequent full speed turns. Also, foam filled tires, very heavy. Basically if you can avoid side-loading the tires, you can extend the bearings' lives.

Also, if you get the numbers off of the bearings, you might be able to do some digging to find a bearing that is more suitable for side loads than the factory replacements are. The factory doesn't really skimp too much on them but they also don't really go overboard either, they're engineered to last a while, but they also have to keep costs in mind and they know that there are going to be instances where some users will find the weaknesses.

They could build a perfect tractor, but it would be bigger than your house, weigh 25,000 lbs, only have 30 hp, and would cost probably $150,000. and nobody would buy it.

HOW does the bearing failure manifest itself? Spalled rollers? Race? Any Water marks? Are you certain the bearing was seated fully? Is the wheel-hub seat absolutely clear of any machining gouges or chips, etc?

And NIW is correct, a sloppy inner bearing will have direct affect upon the outer.
