I have a L3710 and I noticed a puddle of fluid next to the right tire. Is there a seal that can be replaced and if so how big of job is it. I’ve attached a picture by

I recently replaced the seal on mine, not too hard to do. In addition to that seal I also replaced the bevel gear case seal, bevel gear cover and O-ring, and axle flange O-ring. Seen videos of replacing the seal while still attached to axle, but removing the assembly from the axle made it a lot easier to work on.

Did both on my BX23S over the years, not that hard, maybe 2 hours providing phone doesn't ring, neighbours don't show up.....having a clean area and the proper tools really helps !
Usually what happens is a little 'grit' gets in there, make a itty bitty gap for the oil to bleed out.

Thanks for the info. We had some major runoff this spring from melting snow and rain. Was in the mud and water making diversion ditches to keep the water out of my barn.

I’ll probably keep an eye on the fluid level and change it this summer when I get a chance.

The only thing I can add is check out the old seal versus the new seal. Did the same seals on my 2000 B2410 a couple three years ago and to my surprise ( and it was a SURPRISE ) the new seal was one piece and the old seal was a two piece unit. Once I figured out there was a "race" on the spindle housing that had to be removed I was off to the races. Take your time and all should go well.

As I learned when I replaced mine, the new seal is one piece.

I struggled with the cir clip, which must be seated fully. Let us know how it works out for you!

Re: L3710 Front axle cases & bevel gear cases

I just replaced the king pin seals on my L3710 and have had no luck getting cir clip 100 into the groove with shim 095 in place. It could be that there is less clearance now with the new seal, but when I hook the shim on the groove to hold it in place while pushing the clip on from the bottom, I am unable to maneuver the shim out of the groove and up out of the way far enough for the clip to fall in. I don't know where to go from here other than leaving the shim out, so suggestions would be most appreciated.

I managed to get cir clip 100 into the groove with shim 095 properly situated by 1) using a jack to keep the case firmly seated for maximum clearance, 2) coating the shim with oil so it would adhere to the bearing race well enough to overcome gravity and not slip down into the groove and block the cir clip, 3) using snap ring pliers to get the cir clip close, and 4) using a small drift to tap gently around the cir clip until it clearly snapped into place with the bright wear ring no longer visible. A few firm blows down on the case confirmed that all is secure, and the steering and spinning actions feel smooth and tight. Success!

I didn't see a puddle in the picture, but before you decide to disassemble, clean the area with a pressure washer and discover how much fluid is leaking. Might be a solution to use a heavier weight oil in the front.

I just did both sides on my B2620 that had the same symptoms. There are a bunch of youtube vids worth watching to give you the details. Just go slow and be clean and deliberate. Not a hard job at all.
