I purchased a 2023 2501 with 30 hours on it. I am still smiling. I am unable to see the fluid level so I assume there is to much or not enough to be in the bubble. After changing the filter at recommended hours and losing some on the change, I added a quart but still cannot see if the correct amount is in there, Is there another way of checking this without draining.

I have never owned a L2501 and never read the WSM but wouldn't you simply unscrew the sight glass.
if overfull the solution will be self evident.
If under filled nothing will come out..... they do sell an oil dye for when you get the baseline level about right but dye does little if grossly overfilled or under filled.

You can get oil dye to make it easier to see. They make all sorts of colors. Including orange.
You can park on a slight incline and check if there is a obvious bubble or line.
I just look in the fill hole. If I can see it down there, I figure the glass must be full.
FWIW, the center circle of the sight glass is white like Frank Black is.

The fluid is clear but it does have a slight amber color so it makes it hard to tell. However, if the spot is as white as the message box you are seeing my response in, it is low. If it has any other color tone it is high.

Most Kubota sight glasses don't screw in, they are grommet fitted into the side of the Transmission and if you pop them out they don't go back in very easily.

I ended up ordering some dye from JD.

Kinda pricey at 20 bucks shipped, but it works great.

Not being able to see the level was very annoying to me.

Congrats on the new machine, your gonna love it.

You have contaminated your machine, and it is now a mongrel machine! :)

Does this look like a person that cares if it's a mongrel machine?

Decided to slow drain the fluid. Took out two gallons and the sight view seemed more clear. Started adding a quart at a time. After 4 quarts, I saw the fluid in the glass and added a bit more to reach desired level. Looks like the previous owner did not read the manual and overfilled by over a gallon. Thanks for the input gentlemen.
