Are there any old timers around that can identify this famous
painting from the 60ies.
Josef,

I had the artist in my head right.....:)

ummmm......the figure that the ARTIST is painting, nope!:p

I would hate to say, ol DALI did NOT do her justice, because you would need a mucccccccchhhhhhhhhhhh biggggger canvas to get all of her on it! :D:eek::)

Those that are old enough to remember this "portrait" ......

clue - hottest sex symbol of the 60's

Isn't the title of the pic the title of the painting?

It's the title that I gave to the painting to make it
searchable in my file system and I didn't realize it
would show up under her picture. Oh well it's another
one I blew.

I think Salvador captured her image very well. It's what you
get when reality is optional.

Salvador Dali (Spanish, 1904-1989)
Portrait of Raquel Welch
signed and dated "Dalí 1965" (lower right)
oil and graphite on canvas
36 x 23 3/4 in (91.4 x 60.3 cm)
Painted in 1965

Josef, when we flew her around SEA on Bob Hope's 1969 Christmas Tour, every guy there wanted to see her MINUS the bikini. Rumor has it that a few did. :D

The one in the group that I wanted to see in the Biblical way, was Miss America 1969, Judith Ford.

Does anyone know if there is anyone who entertains the troops
like Bob Hope did??? or did it all die with him.

I can certainly remember His show in 1966. It stayed with
me for a long time. In fact, I can still remember some of Bob's
jokes to this day.

Yes the show goes on. A good number have taken up the mantel instead of one lead such as role Bob Hope played.

One time when we had a little problem with the plane, Bob stood in the heat for over an hour telling jokes to help pass the time and keep most everyone happy.

It didn't work for one though, Connie Stevens, as she bitch the whole time.
