Are Kubota’s oil filters made in Japan or Indonesia? I have both flavors here. I’ve been reading a lot about counterfeit products and parts lately. They both have real looking labels but now I notice that the Japan one no longer has the hologram on it. Just wondering

The one I have here is made in Indonesia, also checked the one on the tractor thats 2 years old and its also made in Indonesia. I buy at the dealer. Just curious if you one thats made in Japan isn’t one of the hydraulic filters? Only one on my tractor and its stamped made in Japan (also Kubota filter).

Look at the Bright-Side! ... If they have jobs down there.... they won’t need to come looking for one up here. My favorite blue jeans invented near San Francisco in the 1840s used to be made in NC.... then Puerto Rico... now Mexico. Many cotton items have long been made in Pakistan... now Indonesia.
My Dad would only buy clothes with a Union Garment Workers label in them. It took me a while to understand why.

I got 3 different answers. China, Malaysia, and the Air filter says USA. All bought at local dealership.

I bought a hydraulic filter from the dealer for my L2501. It is "Made in China". Won't be buying anymore from them. Indonesia is bad enough !

Ok thanks to all ^. I buy all my filters at the dealer now. I have bought them off eBay when I didn’t live near a dealer. I save all the labels and write the date and hours on them. I was looking back at some and noticed the different C of O. Counterfeit parts are a real big problem especially coming from the people’s republic. I wouldn’t doubt that some might even get through to a dealers stock somehow, I would hope not.
I’ve only bought a aftermarket filter once, a Kumar brothers air filter and it was a pos, it didn’t fit tight on the inner filter at all and would have let dirt right in the intake. Threw it away.
I will just always buy them at the dealer and assume I’m all good.

Donaldson is a major supplier of air filters to industries. In todays world, you never know where an item is going to be manufactured.

I’ve only bought a aftermarket filter once, a Kumar brothers air filter and it was a pos, it didn’t fit tight on the inner filter at all and would have let dirt right in the intake. Threw it away.

I purchased an air filter form Kumar Brothers, and it fits just fine, including with my inner filter. If you had a problem with your Kubota, would you complain to the dealer, or would you just throw it away? Did you ever consider that the one filter that you received was defective, and the seller would have just replaced it with another, that would fit properly? Defects happen all the time, and sometimes they get out into the market, and only then is is discovered. I had a new screwdriver shaft installed into my Snap On screwdriver last week, and the first time I used it, the tip snapped just like the one that was a year old. The Snap On dealer told me that occasionally, they get a bad batch that wasn't properly tempered, and they are brittle. He replaced it again, and this one works like it was intended to. If the world was perfect, then there would be no need for tools in your garage, or spare parts on the dealers shelf. That is the wonderful thing about the internet, there is always someone complaining about something that happened to only them, and they condemn the entire company for their problems. This is only the second post that I have read this morning, and 2 people are bitching about quality of a part or Kubota manufactured a part that was 18 years old, and failed, and that Kubota should replace it at their expense. What a bunch of whiners that can only see things as black and white. I'll bet that when they went to school, that their pencils didn't have an eraser at the end, because they never made a mistake, and were perfect little angels that could do no wrong!

Last weekend helped my cousin service his new MX5200 and found the same thing. Pulled his air filter and asked him had he changed it, no I have not was the response. it was a Donaldson!

I buy and put Donaldson filters in my Kubota, and other stuff on purpose. Also tend to use Baldwin filters a fair bit. Every Kubota filter I've bought said "Made in Indonesia" on the label. Wouldn't surprise me to see "Made in China" though. Japan outsources just like the US.
