But why? What happened?
Go through your house and toss-out everything that was made in China and see how that affects your daily life. No toast or coffee in the morning. No microchips to run your car…or even the computer you’re using right-now.

Few construction-workers will have tools…..

Surely everyone who is clever enough to use a computer has heard of a basic-of-economics known as “Supply and Demand”….?

If a pandemic drastically changes workers getting to work and that affects the movement of raw materals to producers who haven’t employees show up at work…. it’s a domino-affect.
This pandemic has it’s origins in China….affecting the largest producer and supplier of retail goods to…. the world…. and everyone down-stream…. because rich people and their corporations sent union jobs overseas to Cheap China….

We had a pandemic-response-plan in-effect in 2016….but the new ”leader” didn’t listen to security-briefers and didn’t get out of bed ’til 9AM…. and decided to countervene anything and everything his predecessor promoted….. and politicized public-health….so this is what we got.

A lot of folks wanting $15 an hour will soon find themselves out of a job. Automation will replace them.

Wonder why California has the highest unemployment rate in the country. Idiotic policies like "fight for 15" lead directly to it.

Oh...and check out what McDonalds does when the minimum wage goes up...automation!

In 2013, McDonald's had 35,429 locations, a net income of $5,586 million and 440,000 employees. In 2019, it had 38,695 locations (more locations!), a net income of $6025 million (more profit!), and 205,000 employees (less than half as many employees!).

3 years after buying my tractor, (2014) I had to replace the battery it came with.
This past week, it died, and I had to replace it again.
In 2014, I bought an O'Rielly's 500a, 3yr, 51R battery for $79, out the door.
This past week, I bought the exact same O'Rielly's 500a, 3yr, 51R battery for $199, out the door.
Damn.
Car batteries aren't necessarily designed the same way a tractor battery is designed particularly when it comes to vibration. Many of you don't use your tractors for farming or logging, etc so a car battery can go a long time in your tractors. Those who farm log, etc need a rugged battery so we buy batteries that are made for this usage. They can be more expensive. The Walmart batteries are mostly car batteries and my experience is they don't last in the environment I operate in. They will work in a pinch but longevity in a farming, construction, or logging environment isn't their long suit.

I cut up one of those 'rubber floor mats' for basements, put top and btm for my WallyWorld battery 6 years ago in one of my farm tractors. Still works fine ( course NOW that I've said that........)
