Yeah I did an L47 engine once. Had the old engine up until about 2 months ago, sitting in the corner of the shop just gathering dust and donating a bolt or two.
you have to remove the backhoe, front loader, canopy assembly, subframe, then it's just a glorified L series tractor and standard engine R&R practices apply. But getting the loader and backhoe off can be, interesting and then the subframe assembly. We had forklifts at the shop to do all that stuff and I'd consider some sort of lifting device mandatory for removing the loader. IF engine runs you can use hydraulic pressure to pull the backhoe off; if not, gotta lift it off.
