I have a Kubota D722 engine, got some air into the system while changing fuel filter. Bled the system up to the injection pump, could only get one injector to put out fuel...Took pump out and apart. Soaked all the parts. Put it back together with, surprise, same result...one injector emitting fuel, the other two dry...The pump and parts "look" fine. Clean, no signs of wear or corrosion...The springs seem very strong feeling...Not sure what to do next. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks. TK

Do you know if you are getting a good flow of fuel to the pump?

Do you know if the pump will deliver fuel at the three pump output ports? Have you taken the line to the injectors off the pump to see if fuel spurts out of the pump?

Do you know how to do that?

Have you blown air through the injector line to see if it is clear?

If you took the IP apart and soaked all the parts you'll need a pump specialist to get it back together correctly.

Getting air in a diesel fuel system only requires getting the air out by getting fuel through the lines until there are no air bubbles. It the engine ran before changing the fuel filter, it will run afterwards (when the air is removed) and the IP does not need to be messed with.

Hi. I am in the woods with this pump issue w/no prior experience...I could use all of the help I can get...didn't kow what you meant by PM in your post...I contacted a Kubota dealer and they said, if I understand correctly, they don't sell a rebuild kit for the pump, and I think, they don't fix them any more either. Any idea of a "shop"/type of company that might handle such a thing, and what kind of $ it might cost. Thanks.

Tommy, get to a Private Message by doing as Jim described. North Idaho Wolfman can probably do what you need to solve your pump problem.

Just go under his name in the post above and it will say,"Post a private message". Then send him a question, and it will be between you and him...no one else sees it.

Howdy, North Idaho Wolfman, (Great name!) My name is really Tommy B. but it was already taken...I have a Yazoo mower with a Kubota D722 diesel engine....I bought if from a dealership used, but "refurbished" by them...it ran great with no engine problems for 10 years or so and then started having problems like running well for 20 minutes and then stuttering to a stop until I could start it up again. A buddy at my local auto parts place said it sounded like maybe the air hole on the gas cap might be blocked and etc. The engine hasn't powered up in a couple of years now...And best I/my buddy at the parts store can tell my probelm is with the injection pump...can you rebuild/fix these things? Wondering how much that might cost. Thanks. TB
