Six to eight weeks ago I started searching for BX25's on craigslist. At that time there were a few for sale. Since then someone has posted ads all over the Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas and probably more states as well offering to buy BX25's for $6,000 to $12,000. I never see any for sale. What is going on? Also is it posible this buyer could be deleting any legitimate ads to sell? Try a search starting in Tulsa, OK and work outwards from there and you will see what I mean.

use http://www.searchtempest.com/ to search by mileage from your home. Occasionally I'll search nationwide and come up with same ad across the US just to check if the ad is a fraud. If several exist but near enough to one another they may be legit and seller is spreading the ads out. But if they are way spread apart (FL and NY for example) then obvious fraud.

Searchin for exact wording via google (copy ad text and put in in google in quotes) will work too.

What is odd here though is this is TO BUY and not too sell. Though it could be a Nigerian Scam. (Dad wrote the check but he's out of country now (or some other fake excuse) so going to send you check for more money than asking price ... you must agree to return the money overage to me or I wont buy it)

CraigsList is a GREAT place to find a tractor. I found mine there.

But be aware that CL is also home to a boatload of scammers. My first Kubota was a deal too good to be true. Only one picture... Divorce deal... $5000 under market value... Moving the tractor back East.... Mail me the money and I'll mail you the tractor... Right!!!

If you cannot get pertinent info like Hobbs time, additional implements and other details from the seller, BEWARE. If the ad is from Phoenix but the picture looks surprisingly like Florida, BEWARE.

:)

Found the 2011 L3200 w/LA524 FEL with 32hrs a Rhino 5' rotary and 66" Rhino box blade in Tulsa. Site I found it on was Tractorhouse.com have you tried this site yet?

Paid $17,000 for it all. Is that a good deal? Have about 48 hours on it now in the 3 weeks we've had it.

Thanks, and GLWSearch OP hope you find a legit deal sir.

That is a pretty darn good price.

In 2013, I bought a 126 hour 2012 L3800 HST with a roof, box, rake and rototiller for $19,200 from the original owner. It also came with a smashed hood which ran me $800 to get back in shape.

If it was garaged and not abused, you saved a load over a new one.

Good for YOU!

Yah it was garage kept for the 4 years and had its first service done in 2012 w/ 26hrs. This is what's wrote on filters. They'd bought it as a package deal but the nice trailer had been stolen down in Tulsa. They said someone cut the lock on the fence of their business and was gone in 8 minutes from start to finish per video recording they said.

Said they even had a tongue lock on it but all they(thieves) did was hook the safety chains and drove off.

It was a panic purchase as they said they had a blizzard back then which is really rare. Thanks Ray, glad it was a good purchase then for us.

Every single ad for a used machine I saw from April 2015 through August 2015 was a scammer when I was looking for my BX25D.
So I bought a new machine. I paid $18,500 flat, delivered, all taxes, ect including a FEL quick release, 3 point, 8" bucket, rubber outrigger flip shoes and LandPride 1560.

For fun I used a throw away email account and started a dialogue with a few of the scammers. Each one suddenly 'moved out of state, had the tractor crated (!!!) at the shippers.' I'd email back stating that my brother, the ex-SEAL lived in the town over, what a coincidence. He has a truck and a trailer and has cash. Never heard back .....

I too love to mess them, yet somehow - they steal from those that arent smart enough to realize that they are being scammed......

wouldnt it be nice to send them a check in mail along with some other goodies!!
and watch their face as they opened the mail and then .......well, I 'll leave that to your imagination! :)

I hear you.
For fun I read some site like this. The lengths some guys have gone to is incredible.
http://www.419eater.com/

Every sales phone call is a scam as is every unsolicited email. Every deal that sounds too good to be true, is a scam. Nearly any time a persons story suddenly changes, it is a scam. The plus side is it is usually very easy to identify them and not get 'sucked in'.

My dad almost got sucked in the by the 'grandson arrested in Mexico' scam. where some guy claims to have your beloved grandson in jail and you must western union money to get him out. The panic grandpa is in causes him to over look mistakes the guy on the phone is making. My dad was saved by the bank when he went to withdraw the $20K. They called the FBI and the feds were all over it.

It is a shame the world we live in is full of people that want to take advantage of others. While I'll fight for a good deal, I am honest and will even tell the guy the deal he is giving me is the best out there and thanks!

My local dealer had me worried about my bx25 (that I didnt buy new from the dealer). Was too good of a price. He hinted maybe it was a stolen Home depot bx25, or the guy has a 0% finance deal with kubota and he defaulted, and still sold the kubota but there is a lean on it.

Couldnt have come from home depot as the guy had to many attachments with it. But I was worried about a defaulted loan......... They didnt want to run the numbers bacuse it would throw up a red flag for kubota. They said just don't do any warranty work on it and your fine. But that bothered me. So i went to another dealer and told them, hey I'm looking to buy a guys bx25, but worried its not free and clear. Can you run these numbers and make sure kubota doesn't have a lean on it.

They did and its clear -(at least from kubota!). No clue if somebody could take a loan out from a bank.....

There isn't a title for tractors (and damn it there should be, many of these are more expensive than cars!!). But a personal loan and I'm sorry the bank is out of luck - they gonna have to go after the guy. Now fighting kubota on that issue might be harder. Drop off your used kubota - they run it for warranty work - loan not paid - no clue if they keep the tractor and kubota comes to pick it up. I guess stolen property?
