I am having a front end loader installed on a 1992 Kubota B7100 HST and am confused by the hydraulics. Will the pressure for the loader come from the Directional Control Valve, Hydraulic Block.....or what? I have a Massey Ferguson with a loader and the pressure comes from an after market diverter valve so the 3-point can't work when the pressure goes to the loader.

Dotty, if you have a hydraulic block next to the break pedal, that is one way it can be fed. If you dont have a block, the hard lines can be spliced to tap into the hydraulics. There are videos in this web site that explain that all very well. Some 7100's are fed from a secondary pump mounted to the front of the tractor powered by the engine's crank shaft. I'm sorry, I do not know much about the factory diverter. Although, I don'tbelieve it is suitable for a FEL, but I could be wrong.

I have 3 B7100 tractors. Two are gear drive with B219 loaders. They each have a separate hydraulic pump driven from the front of the crankshaft. My third tractor is a hydrostat. It did have a loader driven from the divertervalve under the seat. ( I now have removed the loader to install a front mounted snowblower) So if you have the diverter valve under the front of the seat (my2 gear drives are not equipped with this option) you can use it to power a front end loader. In one position the 3 point hitch works in the other position the front end loader works.

Odd, my gear drive does have the diverter valve.

Any comments?

dotty, it sounds like that's what you need to do. However, I have a nagging thought that I've read that there is not enough power/pressure from that hydraulic pump for running a FEL.

I must confess that my memory hasn't been very good since Noah wouldn't let me on his arc and I had to fend for myself.

and ask if that would work for you. If you do install the adapter and wind up needing the front-mounted pump, you're only out the price of the adapter and the too-long hoses. (Well, I suppose you could coil up the hoses and use them on the front-mounted pump, but that would be awfully... "jerry/jury rigged".

You can use the hydraulic block to feed a FEL, Wolfman posted some good info in this thread regarding the speed of operation.

My gear drive doesn't have the diverter valve so I honestly know nothing about it. A crankshaft mounted pump would be optimal, but they are difficult to source with stock parts. If your handy with a welder and can weld a flange on a shaft so that its balanced, you can make your own setup.

My hydraulic block has 1/4" in and outs. I think the max you can flow through that is 3gpm at what the tractor is supplying for pressure. Installing a larger pump from a b8200 would increase the flow. With 1/4" restricting the increased flow, I don't see how any speed would be gained.... I would think the block would need to be cut out to get 3/8 worth of flow. :confused:

If Koyker supplies you with the adapter for the hydraulic block, then yes that is what you should use. The diverter valve under the seat is just another option for tapping hydraulic pressure from the same pump. The stock Kubota pump has less gpm than the front crankshaft mounted pumps on the B219 loaders so yours will work a little slower but you will get used to it.

I cannot find the hydraulic system gpm and pressure in my B7100 HST manual. I thought I read that it is 3 gpm @ 2200 psi. Does that sound right?

You have a newer B7100 is does actually have a slightly higher GPM than the older B7100's, somewhere around 4gpm, it's still small but will work for the loader, it works on mine and I have oversized cylinders and lines on my loader.
If you get it all done and it's too slow (usually caused by a worn pump) you can change the stock b7100 Pump to a larger b8200 pump for about the same cost as adding a crank mounted pump.;)
