I have a L2550 4wd that I bought used about a year ago and it came with turf tires. I am looking at upgrading to ag tires for better traction. I've been stuck multiple times (some my own fault) and really need to have better capabilities in the mud. We have a horse farm and put out round bales when ever there's not enough grass (which is about 7-8 months of the year). Plus the turf tires are getting very worn and cracked. The current tire sizes are 13.6x16 on the front and 25x8.5x14 for the rear. I've done some researching and have found out there's a lot more to it than just replacing the tires. Or is it? I think I may need to have new wheels (rear only maybe). From finding a L2550 spec sheet online, it appears original ag tire sizes for this model are 7x16 front and 11.2x24 rear. That where I got the thinking I may need new wheels on the rear. Honestly, the front tires still have good tread, so I could stay with them. What factors do I need to consider on this? Wheels and tires for the rear? With spring coming on, the mud is only going to get worse, so I'd like to make a decision soon. Please help a novice out. I did see the other thread about changing rear tire size, and that got me worried.

Based the fronts you might be able to use the original rims.....both are 16 - the rears are gonna need new rims - but I would NOT mix and match - the RC will be different!

I don't think those wheels will even fit??
Most of the B's wheels will not fit the L's, I do believe the bolt and center spacing is different, but verify.

Just because a tire is the same size doesn't matter, the RC can be completely different from an R3 (turf) to an R4 (industrial)

Also R4's (industrial tread) suck in mud, you need R1's if you want mud / slippery ground traction.

The rims and tires on the front will have to go too, as they will not match up to the tires you need, your current rims are too wide for 7-16's.

And stick with:
7-16 front
11.2- 24 rear
And also note the center hole and bolt count and spacing on any rims your looking at. ;)

These would work, right? I'd prefer to not spend $900 + shipping, but that's another issue. Actually that seems to be a decent price.

You're welcome.

Their phone number in on that link at the lower right corner. You will need the zip-code of location of your order, and your zip code, and weight of shipment (a close estimate will probably do, at least for a quote).

You call and give them that info. They get right back to you with a cost. Seller needs to take them to the nearest Fastenal store, and you pick them up at the nearest Fastenal store by you.
