BX Transmission Filter change

Silly question, maybe, but I want to change the tranny filter ONLY. How much oil am I gonna lose?

Try the vaccuum trick on the filler hole…holds the fluid in so you can do the filter swap…haven’t tried this but heard of it…

None...... well 7 or 8 drops.
Place CLEAN container underneath, capture it all, put back in.
No reason why you can't reuse it, heck all you did was give it some fresh air !!!

I changed mine in a gravel driveway - had new filter ready to go, once the old was loose, spun it off quickly and replaced with new - lost maybe 6-8 ounces.

Can you park a BX on a hill so that the filter is in the high side?
I have only changed the filter in my L once so far, but I'm going to try it next time.

The hydraulic oil filter is pressure-fed, not gravity-fed like most tractors. When you change the filter, all you will lose is the oil in the filter and a few ounces from the passages.
Change the filter, run the tractor for a minute, shut it off, and top off the hydraulic oil.

When I changed the filter on my bx2370 I lost a few drops, next to nothing.

I sold mine and bought a new one. Comes with fresh oil and filter. Why waste time and money changing filters, let the next guy do that.

Don't worry - 8 years after I covered it all up with 6" of concrete! Plus it helped the grass not to grow through the gravel in that spot, so win,win, win!
