I am a new bx 1870 owner MMM , FEL , Turf tires. The usage will probably be 80% mowing 20% loader work. Will filling the rear tires give sufficent ballet for light loader work ? And will the extra weight be to much weight for my lawn ?

My bx1800 tires are filled. Light work is no issue, and no problems with the lawn while mowing. Heavy work on slight inclines are not safe, a ballast is needed. After almost rolling two or three times, I made a 340 pound ballast for the 3pt. Noticeable difference.

Yes load the tires but also get a ballast box, or make your own! ;)

you might be able to get 10 gallons per tire, that is gonna be over the magic 75-80% fill. Should be about 80 lbs per tire depending what you are using for the ballast. Chain - sure ! single ladder might not be the best grip - but are the cheapest to buy.
