Hi,

I am new to the site and have found some very useful infromation here!

I have a B3030 which is 3 years old and I want to change the anitfreeze. However, I can't find the plug to drain the engine block. Does anyone know where the plug to drain the antifreeze from the engine block is located on a B3030HST?

Thanks for any guidance.

You drain the antifreeze on the bottom of the radiator from a cockpit. There is no drain on the engine block anywhere to get the antifreeze out.

I recently did my Kubota L3400 by draining the radiator. I flushed with distilled water 2 times before adding anti-freeze and eac time the water was surprisingly green from the old antifreeze. I ran the tractor for 30 minutes or so between each flush. Not sure if it ever would have cleared up but figured it was good enough. Only mix antifreeze with distilled water to protect your engine if it isn't already diluted.

My 9000 has a cockpit (cab) but no petcock, drain or anything else. I looked everywhere for some kind of drain and ended up going to the book. Turns out it's designed to remove a heater hose from the side of the block to drain the radiator. Not easy to get to and it's pointed straight at you when the hose comes off. Even the inside of my boots got wet.

kbman, your owners manual should tell you how to drain the system. Welcome to OTT.

HMMM thats kinda odd. I wonder how hard it would be to take the radiator off and tap in a petcock or swap it out all together with a drain valve on it.

Now that I know what I'm dealing with before I do it again I may get the stuff where I can put a "T" inline with a ball valve on it for a drain. I really haven't thought about it any more before tonight when I read this thread.

On my L235, there is the one (petcock) on the bottom of the Radiator and another one on the right side below the fuel pump. Probably doesn't help you much, but would make one wonder why they didn't continue having one on later models as is apparently the case.
