I am wondering if a single or 2 bottom plow would be better for my B3030? I live in Mn. in an area with clay type soil. Any thoughts?

I'd have to agree with Tim, I cant foresee a B3030 pulling a plow much larger then a 12" single bottom.

I have a B7800 (30hp) and I have a single bottom, 12" plow. We have heavy clay. I have pleanty of power to pull the plow, but loose traction if trying to plow too deep. I have some ground that I plow that is less clay and I have no problems. I wouldn't want to try a 2 bottom plow in either soil that I have.

Ok, Thanks for the replies. I will call everything attachments on Monday and bend there ear. But a 1 bottom seems like the right choice.

sodak, check your local CL. Surely someone has a single bottom plow for sale. If you just have to have new, buy a can of spray paint at your dealer and nobody will know different in a year!

I have a 16" and I pull it with a B8200. Made it from a JD two bottom pull type plow going to the scrapper. Been using it for 20 years.

i have a B3350, i tried using a 16" single bottom plow. the tractor could pull it with ease. but the tractor is so narrow. i couldn't make a second pass without danger of tipping the tractor over. i currently limit the drop on the plow about half way... i have sandy soil so a 12" twin would probably work.
