I maintain 3 acres and flip houses with rental equipment. I have decided to buy my own tractor and after comparison have come down to the B2920 HST 4X4, with FEL, Bh, BB. Before I purchase it I want to know if this is a good configured piece of equipment that will give me decades of good service with little to no maintenance issues.

As long as you stay ontop of the regular schedule maintenance of oils, fluids filters and grease it as you should then your great grand kids will inherit the tractor. And as with anything else use it but don't abuse it.

Thank you Eric, I believe in proper maintenance and from what I have gathered from the many posts I have read this equipment is known for endless dependability. Before I jump on this item I am a little shell shocked over the cost and determined to make the best decision on model. I know that the bigger 30hp units are to heavy for finished lawns and their wide stance to large for maneuvering in tight places between houses. I like the smaller BX units industrial construction but they seem way to small for some of the bigger jobs of scraping drives and hauling material, they would work me to death. So that is how I came to the B2920, size then power, and then cost.

The quote I have for the B2920 HST 4X4, with FEL, BH w/thumb, 60" BB, aluminum shade and ROPs organizer is $24,600...forgot to ask for the tooth bar. That is a real big number but it is also a lot of equipment. What do you think about my evaluation and the price?

I have found several of these equipped the same with less than 100 hours have sold for around $20k-19.5k...that is a big drop for so little hours.

As with anything else in life its about supply and demand that can set the price of anything. Kubota compact and sub compact tractors are in high demand, more so for ones with loaders and hoes. When in doubt get yourself something a little bigger. I've had a B6100E for about 10 years now for my landscape business on the side and I have done alot with that little B6100 but like you mentioned its about worked me half to death and takes a little longer on a job them something larger will.

I'm looking to get rid of my B6100 and find something in the 25-30hp range with a FEL to do more work. My dad has had a L275 for 30some years and it was well suited for most size residential lawns. During his peek of the landscape business he had two tractors, the L275 and a 40hp Ford 3550 with a 7ft bucket and grading box for the larger jobs. My dad did jump all over my rear for me buying such a small tractor from the start but I look at is I have to crawl before I can walk so for me the B6100 was affordable and a starting point. I've out grown it and need bigger.

Just my experiances from life lessons learned.

I saw that tractor listing and have admired the B21 for years. The reason I did not jump on it is that it is smaller and the hp much smaller. I realize this is an industrial piece of equipment which weighs in at just under 4k lbs...a lot for a compact. But it strikes me as a piece of equipment that will work me a lot harder with my bigger jobs.

what is your opinion on the bb1260 vs the bb1560 box scrapers. I will tell you the 1260 weighs in at 360 while the 1560 tops out at 428. I don't care to spend the extra money but it is a piece of equipment that will be used a whole lot.

Yes its smaller in horsepower but alot heavier in weight. Which is what you want when it comes to putting the power to the ground and drag that 428lb box with ease. Its not always about engine horsepower so much as it is the traction you gain in weight. Believe me I've done my fair share of drooling over the L35 which I'd sign over the rights to my first born male child for!

Well I'm so undecided, I just saw an L3200 with 65 hours on it for sale and it is a lot more tractor...and I have a brother just down the road with all the extra implements that will fit this equipment too. Borrowing a post hole digger or log splitter is much better than owning one.

So though I wanted the narrow foot print and lighter tractor for landscaping and ease of transporting, I'm torn with the extra ability afforded me through the bigger equipment. I need some experienced advice. My application is maintaining my 3 acres of heavy woods and drive on a hill, landscaping and small construction jobs in my business of flipping houses.

I'm trying to give you experienced advise, you're just not listening to me. I've been in the landscape industry for around 10 years and grew up in the industry as my father has done landscaping for 25 years. When it doubt go a little bigger. Many of us on here myself included wish we have a larger tractor then what we currently own. You only get one shot at a tractor unless your a millionaire. Now it sounds like as you mentioned you could benefit from L3200 since you can get your hands on implements. But before you make that jump make sure its ok with your brother to use his toys.

I fully expected that response Eric. I had been told that some times a little tractor can go places bigger units can't and that this is a critical issue with landscaping in neighborhoods...later he admitted that it was a very rare situation. He owns the JD3120 with extra large BH. That was the miss information that was clouding my judgement. I have found the L3200 that I want and now I'm looking for a frame mount BH to go on it.

My dads tractor is a L275 which dimension wise its roughly the same size as the L3200. His has a 5ft bucket on the fel and a 6ft grading box. It served him well for 25 years in the landscape industry. For several years he ran two tractors of different sizes to cover all basis. The 2nd one was a 40hp Ford 3550 with 7ft fel and grading box which he used for the largest jobs he'd come across.

Ohhh, an L275. After all those years, I bet he could use a set of stabilizers...
