Look at post #7. I interpret that as meaning the engine turns over but will not start/run.
You are so correct! I did not catch that update.

A diesel engine needs to turn over at about 250 RPM before it will fire off. I wish him luck.

Being in Wisconsin I'd have my battery charger working as I was going shopping for fuel additives. Most important one at this point is the Power Service 911.

To Appleman, only turn the starter over in 15 second intervals (with 20-30 seconds between) to avoid the starter and causing additional problems.

Question from the warmer climes (Central Texas) where we deal with fuel gelling by waiting for the temperature to be normal in a day or two.

If your fuel gels and you have been cranking the engine trying to get it started, the you use the 911 type of additive to liquify the fuel, do you need to bleed the fuel system? And how does the 911 additive get into the injector lines after the injection pump to liquify that fuel?

Russell, the 911 additive is like a chemical solution to heat on a candle. As it dissolves the paraffin it just keeps moving through the fuel system. No need to bleed the system. It just starts running a bit rough the clears up and operator has learned THAT lesson! ;)

Success! I probably benefitted from a 10 degree increase in outdoor temperature but the Power Service 911 seemed to be the magic bullet.

Thank to all those who replied. I am so much smarter than when I started.

With gratitude,

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
