I bought new a B2650 with a mid mount mower. It mows awesome but I did notice that the gear on my deck says RCK 60 29B I am wondering if maybe I don't have the right deck or wrong gearing. I'm not complaining but I also don't have to mow at 2600 rpm at about 1700 it mows great and doesn't use much fuel.

The B2650 normally comes with a 72" deck, they use the B2620 deck when they want to eqquip it with a 60" deck.

Both the B2650 and the B2620 have a 2500RPM Mid PTO. ;)

I'll take a pic when I get a chance to take the deck off. Probably this weekend.

You should not have to remove the deck! Sitting on the tractor look down off the right hand side platform. Black and silver sticker top of deck towards the back edge.

Yes, Kubota used castings for axle and transmissions housings on multiple models maybe that's what you are seeing for the gearbox?

Question......if it's the B2620 deck, how come everyone says the 60" deck on the B2650 is not a drive over deck?
The 60 inch on my B2620 is a drive over.

I have the B2650 with the 60" mmm. It is definitely not a drive over deck and that is in the manual that came with the deck. It rolls in from the right side very easily I will add. The 72" deck for the B2650 is a drive over deck. Looking at the deck for the B2620, I see it is a suspended mowing deck, not a ground engaging deck like the one on mine. So maybe there is some difference in the mounting brackets and there is definitely some difference in the wheels. Mine rides on 2 large bogey wheels in the front corners, and a pair of wheels in the center of the deck on the rear. I see the one for the B2620 has 4 anti scalp wheels. One in each corner.

I understand the 2650 uses a ground contact deck instead of the suspended one on the 2601 and all the others down the line.Ive used two ground contact Kubotas for 30 years. Why have they moved away from that on all except the 2650. Have any of you used a suspended deck on a less than fare way guality lawn?
I'm looking at a 2601 to replace a L2250 gear and a B8200 HST.

Yes that's probably it. Everything else is just like everyone who has the deck on there 2650. I have a question RKIDD at what rpm do you mow and high or medium gear range?

I usually play it by ear! The conditions dictate ground speed! Best analogy is when you drive, it snows you slow down! Grass gets tall and wet slow down.

Hi zin01. When using the mmm, I mow at the rated pto speed of 2500 rpm to keep the blade tip speed where it should be for a good cut. Works great. I also run all my diesel equipment at least 85 percent of max throttle when working the tractor. I noticed in your post that you mow at a lower rpm to save fuel. Not sure what gph you are at at that rpm, but for comparison, my tractor uses .66 gph mowing at pto rpm which I think is outstanding. As far as what gear range I use to mow, I use medium range. I personally would never mow in high range, as I feel it too fast and too hard on the HST. For me high range is strictly a road gear. Hope this helps.

I have a B2650 with a 60 inch mower and use the ground contact feature when mowing the smoother part of my yard, for the rougher area around my yard property approximately 2 acres i use the deck suspended as to not drag it over ruts and such does fine:cool:

I appreciate that my MMM relates to a B2301 but the deck is a RCK60-32 and it is a suspended, drive over deck , it has the metal ramps.
I have not used it yet so as for quality of cut I am just hoping it is good.
It was called a "finish deck" by the dealer, was he correct?
I have 2 acres of rolling property, it is not ballpark quality - will this be as good or better than my previous lawn tractor.

If it mows like mine it will do awesome. I had a little green riding lawnmower with a suspended deck and this is soooo much better then that one no more little burn lines in the lawn when I turned the deck seemed to dip a little. It annoyed the crap out of me
