If you want to know what entails the 50 hr service, open up your owners manual. Also what is the hourly rate for your dealer?

Pat
Also, did you haul it to the dealer or did you pay them to truck it?

Looked at the manual; $95/hour here around Northern Illinois. Total labor was 2 hours.

They charged $60 to pick up, I took home from dealer.

Just seems a bit high but shame on me for not asking.

Sounds like the price is right on. Another member buys all supplies for $100. Labor is $95 hr. x 2 = $190. Pick up and haul to dealer was $60. That equals $350.

I think if you are more comfortable having the dealership do the service that is certainly understandable. Peace of mind, not having the right tools, and disposing of old oil are all things to consider.

As far as having it hauled in and them doing the service I would say that price is about what I would expect. For others though, in my experience,if someone has even a limited mechanical background, they can easily do the 50 hour service on a tractor.

Using the manual, I did my own 50 hour service a couple of months ago, and spent less that $100. Fortunately I have the right tools and enjoy tinkering on machinery. It only took maybe an hour, and most of that was draining sumps.

I will say that when the big service interval hits, I will probably have it done at dealer. Disposing of 12 gallons of fluid alone is a concern. Also gives me some peace of mind. I may change my mind and just do it, but probably not.

When I got a price on the 50 hour service he said it would be $200 to $450.
As we talked he said if they don't change the hydro fluid they just change the filter it would be $200 ($450 they changed all fluid). So I did my own and change the hydro fluids.
