I am splitting my Kubota B1750HST BST (Serial No 60xxx) to replace the oil seal on the main drive shaft into the HST. Should I consider a clutch replacement at the same time as the machine is opened up? I seldom need to use clutch and suspect this will have been the case for previous owners also. Are there other items such as bearings that should be changed as same time?

How many hours are on the tractor. One thing to check is whether or not leaking oil has made its way to the clutch disc. If it has, replace at least the disc. The age and hours are the best indicator of what needs to be done. If it's a difficult tractor to split, I always replace the complete clutch and release bearing unless they look more or less new.

Thanks for both useful replies. The machine has 2700 hours on clock.
Oil has not leaked forward to the clutch, it has just dropped straight down from seal to the ground

I was talking about the engine seals and any others forward of the clutch. If you're in there, and it's a pain to get in there, now's the time to replace them.
