Is a six foot blade to big for my bx1860. I found a good deal on a jenkins blade for the back of my tractor. I thought it might be to much for pushing snow, not that its to heavy but that it might be trying to push to much at one time than my tractor can handle. I was thinking about a 5 foot blade but I can get this one that swings out and has angle adjustment up and down (if that makes since) for what a standard 5 foot one cost at tractor supply. What do you guys think.

Yeah you're not really going to be able to push snow all that well with a 6ft blade on that small of a tractor. High risk of trashing your 3 point, trust me on this one been there done that. Id say no more then 4 feet will work well. I have a 4 foot blade on my B6100 and it walks sideways if pulling in a straight line forward.

I've used a 6' blade on my B7100. Snow was easier to move than gravel. I could use the blade, but is was clearly too much. I had the power, but not the traction. I bought a 4' blade, and it is much better to work with. So, I agree with Eric.
If the 6' blade is a great deal, perhaps you can cut it down in width.

I can get it for $300 or a little less. It can be offset, tiltled and rotated. If it is a good deal I might cut it down like mentioned above. I think it is a good price what do you guys think?

One thing , the weight of the blade can be a negative along with the size. My blade is a little over 200lbs, the blade your looking at must be 300lbs or so.

Id say for 300 bucks get the blade and cut down a little at a time and see how it goes and find that sweet spot your happy with. If you hack off to much at once you can't put it back. Maybe take it down to 5 and a half feet and see what that does.

I have a 5' on my BX1860, no chains and its perfect. You could use a 6' IMO as long as you kept it at a heavy angle. As others have said, snow is a lot easier to move than dirt. The 6' would be useless to you earth moving but for snow I'd try it.

Another possible problem might be tne height relative to your tractor.. I have discovered with a big blade I just got that the swivel and offset features don't work right if the support beam isn't horizontal, and this might be hard to get with your 3 pt hitch as is. I thought I might have to get a longer top link to lift it with the lower links and still have it come out horizontal. Still experimenting.
