Not sure I asked this before so delete it if I did. Dam pain meds from yesterday’s shoulder surgery is messing my head up. Anyways, am researching rear snow blowers in case my snow pusher doesn’t work out. Cheapest I found was at northern tool by a couple hundred bucks. I know, you get what you pay for. Only want a 48 inch wide but a 60 inch could be doable. Are these 3rd party attachments junk or a good value. Should have kept my cub snow blower and figure out hooking it up to the loader so I don’t have to use the PTO. Appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thanks.

I don't know about the new Northern Tools 3pt snowblowers but several years ago they were made in China and in my opinion they were complete garbage compared to any of the snowblowers made in Canada

Probably the same so will stay clear of northern tool. Have seen the woodmax advertised. Next cheapest one I see. Any ideas who makes them? Will keep looking though. Thanks for the replies.

Buy the cheapest piece of China-made snowblower that you can find, and you will be fine with it. Why waste your money on something that you will only need once or twice a season?

I've had the 54" blower for the past 10+ years. It works great in very heavy drifts on my gravel road.

What do you get for $200 these days.

Because it needs to work during that once or twice a season. :)

Family had a certain yellow-and-white brand with a front mount snowblower, and the gearbox for the auger blew apart after literally 30 seconds. Yes it was covered under warranty but didn't help when the drive was under two feet of snow!

So worth it to look at more factors than just cheapest price.

You DO NOT want to use a 60" snow blower on an 13.7 HP PTO, you won't be able to throw snow 2" if at all.
I run a 60" on the back of a 30 HP PTO tractor and I can drag it right down to nothing in average wet snow.

Measure the rear tire with and stay with a blower that is that measurement or smaller ( you can add side cutters if you need wider)

Oh I wish, I use mine 20+ times a year.
And I'm clearing 1/4 mile so no small task!

Maybe save a bunch of those pain pills for your neck, cause you need to be turned around and the BX is not an easy beast to stay turned around on for long.... just sayin

Wish they gave me enough to save some. Got enough for a couple days. That’s it. No more. You’re on your own after you run out. Know other folks in same situation. The new BS rule is only get a few days worth, then you deal with it on your own.

I've seen people say it before: get a really big mirror. Sure, it'll get snow on it. But way better than killing your neck and back.

My last shoulder surgery I said to the nurse do I get enough oxytocin to pay my property taxes???
She laughed and replied you actually get none !!!! Once the pain block wears off or before actually take two advil then two Tylenol back and forth every two hrs.
Write it down so you can look and know.
My first shoulder surgery they gave me like ten or twenty oxy to take as needed. I took 1 and then just a 1/2 of one. Could not go toilet for a week.
So how the drug addicts can use that stuff daily I have no idea. They must never poop.

I have had a 72" MK Martin for 30+ years, it has been a great blower. Even this 72" will drag down the 6060 if I crowd it in heavy snow, so don't go wider than needed.

A quality product will hold it's value, whereas a piece of junk will not. I would buy a a quality blower.

re: Should have kept my cub snow blower and figure out hooking it up to the loader so I don’t have to use the PTO

that is very similar to what I did 4 years ago. Used 2, 24" blowers, powered from a 14HP engine, SSQA attached. surprisingly easy to make. the two chutes was a bit of a challenge.
I do have a brand new BERCO 40" blower here that may become 2pointzero,one day......

Big difference from what I have read online. Almost half the cost going rear 3 point. New front ones go around 6 grand. 3 point around 3 grand, depending what you buy. I keep checking craigslist to see if I get lucky on a used one, front or back.
