According to the serial number my tractor was built in 1984 however I bought it new in 1987. It's been a pretty good tractor but I need to re-do it again. About eight years ago I split the tractor and replaced the clutch but I cheaped out and didn't replace the clutch fork. Not long after finishing the job the clutch wouldn't completely release. For quite a while now I've been shutting the motor off to shift gears. I'm getting tired of it and plan to split the tractor again soon. I'm having a bad feeling though. There is very few parts available online and I haven't had time to go to the dealer. I'm afraid the parts are not available anymore. There is another issue with brakes but I've got new shoes ordered. Another thing I would like to do this time I didn't attempt before is the hydraulics. I had problems with the front loader dropping pretty quickly while running it and I removed it hoping that was the problem but it wasn't. The three point hitch still drops pretty quickly. I'm guessing it's the hydraulic pump but I don't really know.

Most parts are still available.

Hydraulic pump operation (or the lack of operation) has no bearing on the speed if those two things dropping, it's all based on adjustment.
The three point will have a drop speed adjustment knob under the seat or on the side.
The loader drop speed adjustment is all about valve operation, or function. ;)

Under normal operation when you operate the position control lever it raises and lowers like the tractor was new. Do you think the lever just isn't going back completely to the up position? There is also a rod under the seat which adjusts the lifting and lowering limits. This rod from the get go has constantly been bending all to H ever since I have the tractor. I've replaced it a couple of times and straightened it countless times. I wonder if this is related to the problem?

That control rod has to work properly if the 3 point is used! What is causing the bind? This as you know controls the upper and lower limit of the arms, and kicks out the lever when both are reached. There are certain points that the stops can be adjusted to tweak the stopping points.

The 3 point lowering can be controlled via a "bolt" -this bolt when tightened controls how fast the 3 point will drop - the WSM is a needed must to service this;):)

The only thing I can guess why the control rod is binding is the bracket that holds it easily bends so it's not quite at 90 degrees to the rod. At the moment the rod is functioning but both the rod and bracket is bent. Perhaps I need to straighten the rod and bracket and weld some metal to the bracket to stiffen it. I tried once to put grease on the rod but my place is so dusty the dust gets in the grease and makes it worse.

I've added material to a clutch fork with a wire welder, and it's worked for years. A new one was probably setting at the dealer parts box, but I didn't want to go or wait.

You were right about the parts. I went by the dealer today and ordered the clutch parts. It seems there was only two shift forks in the country, one in Georgia and one in California.

Another issue. I was running low on Diesel and found the can I had been using and poured it in the tractor and I think it was more water than diesel. I stopped at about a pint but it was enough to kill the tractor. I drained the tank and replaced the fuel filter and flushed the lines but it still won't start. Should I remove the injectors and try to blow them out with compressed air?
