The HST circuit cannot handle anything remotely close to the implement circuit. That is why the implement relief(s) have no bearing on that filter. All of this can be easily gleaned from the hydraulic diagram in the WSM.

I do not see any issues with the filter mounting base nor can I find any issue with the relief on the mounting base. Seems to seal up fine but I watched the filter expand and blow the seal out. I didnt see any movement in the base and it appears to be good as new

Read the manual.

Check the relief in the HST. NIH showed you where it is. If there is a relief in the base thats news to me. More likely a check valve but I am guessing.

Read the manual.

Have you removed and cleaned this poppet?

So is there a consensus on how removing the old filter and adding new oil led to the possible blockage or restriction at the HST relief? Are we to assume that a piece of gasket material parted ways with the original o-ring on the transmission filter, and then got trapped in the system when the new filter was installed, and worked it's way to the HST relief once the tractor was started? This makes a lot of sense given that the OP went through a number of filters.

I'm not being a smart arse, just realizing that this scenario could happen to any of us with HST tractors if this is how it happened.

You did remove the charge relief and inspect as seen in yellow below and not the high pressure relief/check valves in red correct? You can leave the poppet, spring and shims out temporarily as a test. That should direct all charge flow back to the sump unless there is blockage downstream to the sump from that. I would find that unlikely unless it was introduced at the charge relief opening.

He doesn't need to get into the high pressure reliefs because it's doing it on idle with no movement.

What manual are you looking at?

I did not direct him to remove the high pressure reliefs. I asked if he had removed the charge relief and not the high pressure reliefs.

I am looking at the BX1870 WSM posted on the Kubotabooks site.

Look at posts #9 #12 #37

The reason I asked which manual is that you picture do not match the parts in the BX1870 in the US version.
It's very common because kubotabooks has a lot of ever seas manuals that don't match our US models.

I have already read the entire thread. Here is the cover of the WSM manual.

The poppet you reference is from the exact same location on the HST housing as the one I posted. The image I posted is from the disassembly/assembly section.

From experience parts and service manual diagrams can vary quite a bit.

I dont think the minutiae matters as long as you get the correct valve :)
