St.Mary's, ohio,
Inherited this tractor with 350 hours on it. Ran well for 6 months then all the sudden started losing power and rpms would shoot down and the engine would shake. Replaced the fuel filters, fuel pump and air filter. Bled the fuel lines both places. It ran good with mower running for 20 mins then I would lose power and shake for 30 seconds at a dead stop then it powerd back up for 5 or 10 mins and then down again over and over. Newbie here with a diesel tractor. Thank you.

Sounds like a fuel restriction.
Gravity feed fuel directly from a clean bottle into the injection pump from above it, and see how it runs, and report back. ;)

other things to consider after the clean bottle trick- check fuel hoses, better yet - replace them, and check fuel tank cap - that can cause a vacuum on the lines, Ex. spin off the cap and see if any changes occur.

Tried the gravity fed fuel and couldn't reproduce the problem. Actually was able to mow all the lawn with no problem using it. Put the other hose back on and engine would power down every few minutes and shake then rpms would recover. Took the hose off the injector pump and turned the key on to power the fuel pump. A steady stream of fuel would come out but every once in a while you could hear the fuel pump change pitch and the fuel coming out would decrease a bit then back to full flow. So far changed the pump, 2 filters, and air filter. What's the next step? Thank you!

Next step is to pull the tank and clean it, there is probably something in it restricting fuel out.

When you removed the rear fuel filter, did fuel come out all by itself? How much? My tractor did this in the spring, turned out to be a tank restriction in the nipple where the hose attaches to the tank. I took the cap off the tank and blew back through the fuel line. Got full flow and added Bio kleen to the tank. I've ran 15 gallon since, and no more problems. I've been treating with Bio Kleen every tank now.

Thank you all she's running good now. Pulled the rear line going to tank and notice just a slow trickle of fuel coming out. Blew some air into the hose and she opened up and stared to pour out. Used some bio kleen and it ran fine all day. Again, thank you!
