Been looking at tractors for a month. Started thinking of a plow truck, then a small yard tractor with snow, then a compact JD 1026r and yesterday a neighbor had a 2104 L3200 with no DEF for sale in his front yard. 48 hours, got him down to $17,500 , loader. Windsolar

Thanks Hokie! I have a funny story to tell about it as I was about to buy the smaller JD 1026r and a friend sent me the Craiglist add for this baby: http://burlington.craigslist.org/grd/5280977551.html
I called the guy up and went to his house and offered $17,000. Nope, he wanted $18,000. Then went to the Kubota dealer and discovered he got it in 2015 and it was a 2014 and still under warranty. The dealer said "I would buy it". So I drove back to buy it at the $18,000 price and his wife spoke first and said he would take $17,500! DEAL! I gave her all I had, $20 and am going over tomorrow to pick it up and pay the rest. I bet he hasn't even changed the oil yet!
Hey, check out my blog: www.solargrease.blogspot.com
I converted a VW TDI to run on veg oil. I'm selling it and it is a great little car. Windsolar

windsolar, nice tractor at a great price. However, you better hope the seller has some integrity. Giving him $20 to hold an $18,000 dollar tractor is on the "I really want it, but I don't have the funds right now--I'll try to get it" side.

If someone else sees the ad, and comes by he may very well move you out of the picture by offering the asking price and paying.

It unethical, but in our society of everyone for themselves, it happens all the time.

I wouldn't be posting and stating facts on the internet until it's in my barn!!

Hope it works out for you, nice machine.

Done deal. Picked it up today. Actually work with his wife. Mint condition. Real nice machine, garage stored. all he did was plow a 20 foot driveway. He had all sorts of toys. Said he had 30 people call but i was the only one that was serious. Had some guys coming by this weekend, too late. Thanks! Windsolar

Congrats!

Nothing like helping someone clear out their garage... Its the "neighborly" thing to do.

What a fun day. Drove the 7 miles to my house from where I got the L3200 and it actually fits in my garage (with the ROPS down, sucks one pin is real hard to screw in have to lube that baby real good!). Moved my work bench to get it in my two and a half car garage (36 feet wide). I knew there was a reason to make a big garage. Of course the wife says why a tractor? What are you going to do with a tractor? Well, that pile of earth next to the garage is gone! windsolar!
PS I think I got the perfect size tractor for me. Like that 32hp motor. Can't imagine the new L with the 25 hp. I'll post some pics!

What a sweetie! Grease everything you can and check fluids on everything else. The HSTs are bulletproof. Once your wife drives it a few times, and sees what you can do with that thing, she'll be a believer. You can move a lot of snow with that FEL.

ENJOY!!!

Nice score! I'm glad it worked out for you.

I got my wife on my little BX. She went forward five feet. Back five feet, made the FEL go up and down and that is it. Zero interest in driving it. She even has no interest in running the Sears lawn tractor. She'd rather sit inside and read a book while I do all the work....hey......smart woman!
