I see....funny i was at my dealer Monday to buy forks. A 1950 buick Road master pulled in. I smelt diesel bad. Here this guy restored and put a 6 cly Cummins diesel motor in this car.
Car was black....then more black. Guess thinks he is those Diesel Brothers on t.v. kept saying it gets 30 mpg. Turbo Diesel.
I have several classics in a field that I can play with at will
but I refuse to power one with a diesel engine.
I know plenty who've done P pump 6BT's and they make a lot of power but they are still, slow, given the amount of power they make. I know a few guys who have spend 6 figures making 1500hp+ out of their trucks when in the end, they're still slow by comparison. To each their own, and I'll give anyone credit for doing a swap. I had originally wanted to put a V3300DI-T into my other Mustang but kinda gave up on it after figuring out that the engine assembly was over 600lbs not counting the bellhousing adapters, mounts, accessories, etc.
Our (when I was at the dealer) old kubota service rep built a BMW motorcycle using a (I think) V1505T. I thought it was cool but he couldn't keep splines on the trans shaft. Maybe out of alignment, dunno. He left the Kubota job and I never seen it or him again.
