Just had my 1st regen cylce as i was using my new fork attatchment to move logs today. Was suprised as i have 21 hours on mu new L4060. Dealer mentioned it would be around 50 hours. Took about 15 minutes once i parked it. Read my manual to be sure i didnt need to do anything. My first deisel like this so was all new. Glad i had read a few posts as the dealer jistvsaid itvwoukd do at some point. I almost pressed the inhibit button thinking it was to enable.
All good though. 👍
So thanks to you guys !!!

Ok.....i had the p thing flashing while working.
Just increase RPM until it goes solid (light on, not flashing) and keep working. When light goes out, do whatever you want with RPM. No need to park for a routine regen (unless you just want to).

Yep…. burning more fossil fuel to create more carbon-dioxide from unburnt fossil fuel. Makes so much sense…

Ah! If it was beeping sounds like you missed the flashing light only regen notice for the normal regen and got to the parked regen required.

Probably owns a sooty smelly older machine. I had to switch to a new tier 4 machine to avoid the sinus headaches I kept getting from operating my older tractor.

I see....funny i was at my dealer Monday to buy forks. A 1950 buick Road master pulled in. I smelt diesel bad. Here this guy restored and put a 6 cly Cummins diesel motor in this car.
Car was black....then more black. Guess thinks he is those Diesel Brothers on t.v. kept saying it gets 30 mpg. Turbo Diesel.

That would be a fun car to have, but I wonder how the transmission and the rest of the driveline holds up to the torque of that motor?

I own a ‘96 M4700DT which neither smokes, nor smells, nor regenerates.…has zero emissions-controls. It simply starts right up…(well, …one very short blast of black exits on cold days…but then it burns cleanly)…..

Yes… I’m sorta braggin’…. not because I was smart, but because I was very lucky to find a less-than-400-hr machine for sale less than 15 miles from my home that had been stored inside. After a few minor mouse-eaten-wiring issues…. it’s been a real pleasure to own.

Good that you found a nice machine. My 20+ year old JD that I sold recently gave me a sinus headache after every hour of use. It didn’t smoke much, but the fumes got to me. I don’t notice this at all with my new machine.

Yep.... i asked all i got out pf him was....30 mpg. Lol. Was eccentric 70 year old dude zz top beard. Dealer said he has a lot of cars amd does crazy stuff all the time. Loves diesels..has a 70 GMC i guess same motor.
Id guess he retrofit transmissions and beefed up the rear end

I have several classics in a field that I can play with at will

but I refuse to power one with a diesel engine.

I know plenty who've done P pump 6BT's and they make a lot of power but they are still, slow, given the amount of power they make. I know a few guys who have spend 6 figures making 1500hp+ out of their trucks when in the end, they're still slow by comparison. To each their own, and I'll give anyone credit for doing a swap. I had originally wanted to put a V3300DI-T into my other Mustang but kinda gave up on it after figuring out that the engine assembly was over 600lbs not counting the bellhousing adapters, mounts, accessories, etc.

Our (when I was at the dealer) old kubota service rep built a BMW motorcycle using a (I think) V1505T. I thought it was cool but he couldn't keep splines on the trans shaft. Maybe out of alignment, dunno. He left the Kubota job and I never seen it or him again.
