Mine doesn't need to, it can be idling and bring that much up. My grapple weight is more then 1000

But mine is a M9540

I'd say you have something going on. My L3000 will pick up round bales at just above low idle.

When was it service last?

What fluid and filters?

Welcome to OTT
Have you checked hyd oil level & changed hyd filters? Changing hyd filters & checking hyd oil level is 1st thing I recommend doing. My M7040 will pick up a 1000# rd bale at engine idle speed.

Like Tx Jim said, have you done a full fluid and filter change?

If yes and you still have issues, then #1 get the WSM (aka Service manual) and #2 test the system pressure.

A relief valve that was stuck open (debris etc) would result in the "no lift at idle" symptom.

Try going around the tractor hydraulics topping out all the cylinders to push flow through the valve reliefs.

Haven't done an M95S but have done quite a few M9540's and 8540's that have had a stuck valve in the position control valve assembly. Removal is required, find the stuck valve, free it and reinstall. Gotta lift the cab on the M-40 series to get access but it's not too bad.
