Warm up time in Winter vs. Summer

Stupid new guy question: I understand the importance of allowing enough time for warming up the tractor before putting it under stress in cold weather. But what do you do in the summer? This weekend it was close to 80 degrees outside and I still warmed it up for several minutes but wondered...

Can I offset my box blade?

Probably a dumb question, but I have a L3301 with a BB1572 box blade and the top n' tilt kit. While I love this set up, I really want to push material back to the center of the road. Can I adjust one of the lift arms to be shorter so that I am dragging the box blade at an angle? I didn't see...

I'm an idiot and lost my keys. Now what?

2018 3301 Tractor. Not sure what my options are. The good news I guess is that I lost them on my property somewhere so its not like anyone else will find them. Are Tractor keys like car keys? Or are they more like RV/trailer keys where I think you can just buy a master key. Thanks in...

    Tractor wont shift into High

Ok I am an idiot. When I bought my used L3301 (260 hours) I thought I had tried everything on it. I remember shifting from Med to Low to make sure that worked but I guess I was in such a tight space I never tried High. Yesterday I could have used High but when I shift to H it just rolls like...

    Low vs. Med

I ran into somebody the other day that has the same L3301 that I do and we both use it primarily to grade roads with a box blade so we were comparing notes. The one thing I thought was odd is that I always use low when grading the road with the box blade, he keeps his in Med. We basically are...

How to move HST when tractor dies?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but it just occurred to me that I have no idea how to move my HST tractor if the engine dies. On a manual tractor I could put it in neutral and roll it up a truck ramp, etc. How do you move an HST if the engine won't run?

    Stupid question of the day...

If I am filling my tractor with Diesel from the local gas station then I don't need to worry about Anit-Gel until it gets down to what temperature? Does adding anti-gel when you don't need it harmful? Bonus question #2. Does anyone use grease caps? Seems nicer than having a glob of grease...

How crazy are you about topping off your tank?

Particularly when you only use your tractor 3-6 hours a month, I know it's important to keep the fuel tank topped off. But how particular are you about it? If you use a gallon do you immediately top it off? I tend to wait until its 3/4 tank before I bother topping it off, but that means it...

When you don't use your tractor that much....

I am 9 months into ownership of a L3301. Bought it with 206 hours, it now has 236 hours on. So averaging just under 4 hours a month. Not much. My question is: Is there anything I should be doing differently because I am using it so little? One of my concerns is fuel. I do use a stabilizer...

    HST Safety Switch Replacement

Sorry for the dumb question, but how do I get the wires off this switch?

Lever to raise the 3-point hitch question

Why do I have to move the lever to raise the 3-point hitch to 5 out of 10 just to get it to lift even slightly off the ground? Is this normal? Can I adjust something to make it lift off the ground sooner? Seems odd that the first 4 positions do nothing....

    Box Blade Question

Have a 72' BB for my 3301. Can I use it going backwards? I just want to level out gravel going backwards, I am not trying to dig in put a lot of force of it. Also I noticed that I need my sidearms tighten up quite a bit if I am going backwards so the sidearm doesn't drag against the tire...

    New L3301 Owner with questions

I bought a used L3301 (2018 I think with 206 hours on it). I have never owned a tractor so trying to make sure I don't screw anything up LOL. I had the dealer change the engine oil out before I bought it and I verified the hydraulic filters were changed at 50hrs. 1) My tractor did not come...
