50 hour Hydro oil filter change

Hydraulic oil doesn't shear and pick up carbon deposits like engine oil. If the filter is doing its job, break in particles should be trapped. Some people have commented that the hydraulics had less whine after changing the oil in an HST system, but Kubota doesn't seem to think it's necessary to...

    Best oil for L2501?

Picture of your tractor on your trailer

From what I can tell it depends on weight. It's not required below 10k lbs. Sort of like the number of tie down points required. There's a lot of debate on this because there are three different guidelines. Below 10k you can secure it like a vehicle, every 10 feet or like heavy equipment. The...

    L2501 loader re-attaching

Thanks for the ideas. I'll try the boards first since I have them.

    L2501 loader re-attaching

I took my loader off to do some maintenance on the tractor. A few hours later I went back to re-attach it and it had settled some. It looks like maybe one of the support legs had sunk down in the ground. The ensuing battle was epic. I probably spent an hour getting that thing back on. Is there a...

    Diesel Cold Weather Additive

Opti-lube works for me, but my climate is warmer.

    A little farm help!

I wish I could train my goats to do the chores. For now they just like to get in the way to see what I'm up to.

    Losing interest in R14 tires...

Keep load rating in mind. R1 are usually overloaded with a FEL.

Has anyone used the product "sticktion elimanator.

Ar9100 is the oil additive. I'm a factory trained (ex) Ford mechanic. I like it for Powerstrokes. I don't see the advantage for Kubota tractors, but I'm not trained on Kubota engines. I honestly don't know if it would do any good or not. Interesting thought though. Main thing is just to do the...

Has anyone used the product "sticktion elimanator.

I use Archoil Ar9100 in my Powerstroke. 220k miles on stock injectors. Never thought to use it in my tractor.

What Is Correct Procedure / Bucket Position When Parked In Garage

I keep my bucket flat or tilted down a bit even in the dry and no blocks or anything for ventilation. That Piranha tooth bar is sharp! I keep the paint protected from exposure just for potential resale value, although I don't foresee ever selling it. I know I would pay more for one that looks...

    Dealer Problems

You've stuck with that dealer far longer than I could have. Kudos. In the end you'll have a tractor. All I would have is a rant. It's not the tires or scratches, it's the lack of communication that I couldn't take. Like I didn't matter to them. Also something fishy about the financing. Reminds...

    B2650 ballast box

FWIW, round or taper the edges of the bottom if you make one because you may take off in the tractor and forget it's down. I slid mine about 30 feet across the yard when I backed out of the storage area. The tapered bottom didn't act as a box blade. My ballast is ugly but it works and was dirt...

    DH1060 disc with L2501

FWIW, a report for anyone interested. The combination did pretty well in East TN clay soil. I did several fields and food plots with acceptable results. It tends to want to "drive" the L2501 HST with loaded R4 tires, but not too bad. You know it's back there when in full angle, but I could...

    B2650 cold climate engine oil - Rotella T6-5w40 or Semi-synth 10W-30?

Why not just get 5w-30 synthetic oil? That said, I run T6 in everything, but I don't have the extreme cold to deal with.

Wowzer, talk about markup on OEM Kubota parts

Keep in mind that not all identical relays actually are internally. Some have a resistor built in to prevent reverse emf from the magnetic field collapsing when the relay is de-energized. That reverse kick can damage a computer. Some are sealed or have better contacts. They may all look and work...

Wowzer, talk about markup on OEM Kubota parts

Deere is the same way. Just nature of the beast when dealing with parts that are not unique to a particular manufacturer or model.

    Trailer size for L2501

20ft minimum. I have the same tractor. The extra two feet allowed me to mount a tool box to carry straps, chains, binders etc. I set the bucket on the tool box and still have the wheel of the rotary cutter hanging off the back. You'll need room to balance out the load to keep the tongue weight...

    L235 - Fire recovery

I'm very sorry about your loss in the fire. It's a good sign that the fan belt survived. Could indicate that the temps didn't get high enough to affect o-rings, etc..

Wrong hydraulic fluid used in hydraulic/transmission reservoir

Sorry for the stupid question, but did you run it or is it still just in the reservoir? I'm thinking Bobcat type reservoir that is separate from the hydraulics. Personally I'd change it out.
