Rear Brush Cutter and Quick Hitch- Yeah or Nay

I had to use the U adaptor shown in the attached in place of the top hook on the RCR1248 Landpride. The implement would not lower with the top hook attached to the top swing point where I always ran it on the JD with a Frontier RC 48 inch. Gives more movement of the top link system, including...

HST Fluid Change : Forgot to remove the Strainer.

Never ever found anything on strainer of the 3 JDs. The B just has us changing the filters.

    Moving rotary cutter around. Dolly?

I've a 2x6 with 3 steel castors mounted underneath each side. Make the 2x6 one to two inches wider than the RC in the front.

    Good inexpensive grease gun?

I recommend the lube shuttle. No grease mess. Heard that JD carries cartridges for it. Buy a LockNload tip for it.

    Paint or no? Chime in

Best paint for if any rust there is Rustoleum RustReformer. It turns the iron oxide (rust) into iron sulfide. Makes for a nice primer.

    Starting and seat

The B2601 doesn't have the # of safety switches that the 3 JDs had. Can leave HST in gear. Can leave park brake off. Can start from beside it. Cannot start rear PTO unless seat is up.

    Starting and seat

Can start the B2601 standing to the side.

    Stabilizers vs turnbuckle 3pt implements

Don't know why you want them to sway a little. I broke the turnbuckles on the 4010 by letting the RC sway a bit.

    Just bought a B2601

Gotta be stopped to change range on the B. One or two of the 3 JDs allowed you to do it on the run.

    Stabilizers vs turnbuckle 3pt implements

Gotta use the round holes in the stabilizers. Do not use the oval ones.

Removing the PTO shield used to be a PITA

The front shield on our LP RC is okay. The real one is a huge beast that I plan to cut off with my rotary drill cutter in order to get to the bolt that breaks. My LP came with a push button PTO. Requested one from JD for the last Frontier RC I had and had one on the MacKissic and now on the...

Easier way of pulling down ROPS for storage

I run the B2601 in the 45 degree position: fits under garage doors and still acts as ROPS.

Cranking speeds will be about half what they are with any of the other oils. Stuff is really viscous at starting temps. I use 0w30 ESP M1.

Some 0, 5 or 10w30 or 0,5,10w40 oil for the engine. SUDT2 for the HST if it has it. GL5 oil for the bush hog gear box. Don't use the 15w40 crap.

    New purchase, concerns with dealers...

We drove 2 hours to buy our B2601 with FEL and BB early last year. It was the only one reasonably close that had loaders. Dealers within about 35 miles did not have any loaders. If I need any service (90 hrs so far), I plan to have one of the closer dealers pick it up. Not likely. Can...

Kubota recommends being easy on the tractor the first 50 hours (should I even mow?)

Never bothered. Just drove it the way I needed to. On 4th tractor now. Never an issue.

BX 2380 at 99.7 hours - anything I should especially be looking for?

Lube job. Never ever retorqued any nuts/bolts myself on any previous 3 tractors. Never had anything come loose.

Tractor PTO Shaft - Hard to turn - is that normal?

The B2601 is still stiff at near 90 hours. I bought a PTO shaft wrench from A.M. Leonard. Never was this stiff on the 3 JDs.
