L 3710 HST new to me as of last year.
Bought it with 1750hr, now 1780 hrs.
From the previous original owner's notes, last Hyd fluid change was at 1260 hrs.
This past weekend, did my first hyd fluid change on it.
got my UDT 2 , filters, got the manual out and started on it.
working along with the owners manual, drained it, put the new filters on, filled it up to the sight glass and then the last thing in the manual shows ....... "" oh... bye the way, when you change the filter, clean the strainer"

See the picture. ........ It's the last thing listed in the procedure.

I don't feel like draining all new fluid back out only to find this thing clean.

I don't know if the previous owner ever cleaned it.... i could possibly message /text him to find out .

The round magnet on the large hyd filter barely had any particles on it.... i was surprised how clean that large magnet was. ( if my hands weren't so oily, i would'a taken a pic )

From you guys that have hydro's with similar hours, ..... What'a you think.... leave it... or go thru the trouble of draining it to check the strainer.....?

When I cleaned the strainer on my new tractor, I expected to find a fair amount of manufacturing sparf on the strainer. Nope, surprisingly clean.
Hopefully, when the tractor had its' first fluid swap, the strainer was checked, that is the critical time.
I suggest cutting open the trans filter you took off and see if there is anything in it. If it is clean, chances are the strainer is too.

Some time ago,I serviced my deceased friends L3130HST before his wife sold it.
It had been dealer serviced before.
The strainers had not been removed before.
The strainers were clean as a whistle!
Apparently, the filters are doing the job?
Don't sweat it!
Good Luck!
