I have forks and for what you are looking to do I would recommend the grapple. I purchased one last year and am amazed how much I use it and how it helps with storm cleanup, firewood processing and general clean up around the ole farm place.

I bought one as I had the same issue repeated with my grapple. If I took it off on a cool day and went to reconnect it later on a warm day it would not connect. I end up using it more frequently than I thought. I keep it in a heavy duty ziplock bag in the tool box behind the seat of the tractor.

I have had the same symptoms on mine and it was a poor battery connection. Take the connections loose, clean them and reconnect. Again, as others have stated, check the voltage of the battery as I have had the same when my original battery was going bad too.

Each mower seems to be a bit different. Mine is not a Kubota but is wired to the electric clutch/PTO switch. It can have endless hours of running and only turns on when the blades are engaged. See if you can locate the wiring diagram or trace the wiring to its source.
