B7100 with B219 FEL...slop at the lower bucket to arm mount

While doing my normal spring maintenance, I am starting to notice quite a bit of play where the FEL arm is pinned to the lower part of the bucket. I can see the the holes are getting egged out. I have never had the bucket off, so I am not sure what is actually down there, if it is a bushing, or...

B7100 with 48" King Kutter brush hog

I have used a 48" brush mower on my B7100 for several years now. It does a great job and in my opinion, the implement is not oversized. I simply put the tractor in low and 1st gear, if I have some thick brush to go through. The mower has a grade 2 shear bolt, which I have never sheared. Since...

    B7100 rear axle hubs

I have read quite a bit on the various old style rear axle hub fixes. I see they sell replacement hubs for $140-$160 each, which is a little steep for my blood. I ran across these on...

    B7100, clutch possibly failing

I recently had to move about 40 yards of dirt when I started to notice what I believe are clutch issues, mainly in reverse gear. Sometimes, while in reverse with the clutch out, the tires won't spin and the engine is not bogging down. This was most evident when I was trying to use my bucket to...

    Thermosiphon system question

I added a coolant recovery bottle to my B7100 last summer, thinking that it would work like a conventional cooling system, where coolant would be drawn back into the radiator during cool down. That does not seem to be the case. The radiator will shed some coolant into the reserve tank, but it...

B7100 with B219 loader, filter plugging issues

This loader has the reservoir built into the RH tower tubing. The vent/breather is at the top, the pickup line with filter/screen is near the bottom. I have been working the loader pretty hard while digging some ditches. I keep plugging up the filter/screen with debris. I can't figure out what...

    B219 FEL issues

1977, B7100, gear drive, with B219 FEL. This tractor has the front mounted pump that runs the FEL. I have been using it to dig ditches. Today I noticed after about an hour of use, the hydraulics seem to get louder while working the FEL. I notice that the raise and tilt back feature was much...

    ROPS for B7100

I want to add a ROPS to my 1977, B7100. I am not finding a part number anywhere for something like this. Does it exist, or do I just call a Kubota dealer and inquire? I know WI offers a rebate program for this as well. Does Kubota offer a couple different styles for my tractor? I think I need...

    Hydraulically driven brushcutter (Hydracutter)

I thought I would toss this out there, before I sell this thing. I have a Case 444, which is a hydraulically driven 2wd garden tractor. There is a pump off the back of the engine that powers the back axle and a rear, hydraulic PTO to drive rear attachments, such as a rototiller, log splitter or...

B7100, 3 point hitch slowly drops over time

I have noticed that the 3 point hitch on my 1977, geared B7100 will slowly fall over time. What are the most common causes for this? I'm assuming I have a seal or o-ring that is going bad. Let me know where I should start looking or if there are any tests to perform to diagnose this. Thank!!

B7100, addition of a coolant recovery tank

Since my tractor does not have the factory whistle, I installed a temperature gauge and and just today a coolant recovery tank. It was a pretty easy mod. The hardest part was finding a place to put a 2 quart recovery tank. It is a tight squeeze, but it fits!

    Front driveshaft housing question, B7100

I decided to have a look at my front driveshaft today on my 1977, B7100. I drained the fluid from the front differential. The driveshaft housing that comes to the back of the differential has 2 bolts on it. One looks like a drain plug and one looks like a fill plug. In the photo, you can see oil...

    Gauge package, B7100

I finally wrapped up my gauge install. Thanks to 85Hokie for all of his help with this!! Since I discovered that my Kubota hour meter was not working and since it is a standard 2" gauge, I decided to put an oil pressure gauge in the same location. The original oil pressure light is still...

1977, B7100 front drive shaft removal

I looked through the service manual that I printed, but I am not seeing any instructions on how to remove the front drive shaft on this gear drive tractor. I want to take the shaft down to inspect all the U-joints and to see where that shaft spline to coupling play is coming from and how to...

    1977 B7100, hour meter

Tackled the electrical gremlins on my new to me tractor today. Removed all of the extra electrical garbage that was installed, got the lights working and even the horn....lol. It does not appear that the hour meter is working, if I turn the key switch on. Should it be working in the "on"...

Bled the fuel system, still can't get it to start.

I replaced the fuel filter on my B7100 today. I installed the new filter, left the filter canister a little loose, opened the fuel valve until fuel started coming out the canister, then tightened it down. Tractor started right up but sputtered and died 30 seconds later. I figure I still have...

    Turning wheels around

Would there be an issue if I turn my front wheels the other way when I install my new tires? The valve will now be on the inside of the tire, instead of the outside. But, it looks like I would be about 2" wider per side by doing this, due to the rim offset. Since I have a FEL on by B7100, I...

    B219 loader fluid or oil

Manual calls for 10W30 MS engine oil or type "F" tranny fluid. Is it acceptable to use the universal hydraulic fluid that I used in the rear axle/transmission for the FEL as well? This has the separate reservoir for the FEL on the right side upright. Holds around 5 quarts. The FEL is old. I...

    1977, B7100, front driveshaft looseness

I have noticed play in the front driveshaft. At first, I assumed I had a bad u-joint. But after further inspection, there appears to be play between each of the 2 upper yokes and the splines. There is a little play at each yoke, which adds up when you factor in both on top and possibly both on...

    Broken radiator filler neck....repairable?

I believe this still seals, but I would like to have it fixed, if possible. Anyone know if a radiator shop can replace the filler neck on a radiator
