Manual calls for 10W30 MS engine oil or type "F" tranny fluid. Is it acceptable to use the universal hydraulic fluid that I used in the rear axle/transmission for the FEL as well?

This has the separate reservoir for the FEL on the right side upright. Holds around 5 quarts.

The FEL is old. I assume technology has changed over the years on possible fluids to use.

I just use Napa Hydraulic Fluid after a rebuild & flush. My hydraulic guru said seals & pump would last longer with modern hydraulic fluid over motor oil or ATF.
(I have two B219 manuals, one says motor oil the other says ATF.)

Yes, that will work fine.
