Online SELLERS Should list pertinent information about their products

For a local farm supply store, also check for Southern States, Agri-Supply, and independent farm supplies near you. What they stock is going to vary depending on the local market but they’ll have far more supplies for tractors than Tractor Supply.

Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

This cardinal flower is the only one I’ve ever seen on our place. For at least the last 15 years, it shows up every fall in the same spot, on the north bank of the tail race from our neighbor’s pond dam a couple feet east of where our path crosses it.

    O ring question

Will defer to your expertise on the subject as you know much more about the subject than I. Worked for me thus far but quite possible more luck than skill. And to be clear since intonation is not possible in writing, that is said in all sincerity.

    O ring question

For Pioneer style, as best I’ve been able to tell and in my experience: 1/2” coupler: number 117 buna-n 70a (medium) hardness 3/8” coupler: number 115 buna-n 70a 1/4” coupler: number 113 buna-n 70a No clue about flat face. I haven’t seen those sizes in the assortment box type kits at HF...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Put on the skidding winch to do a little trail clearing. Didn’t really need it today but will for the next job so went ahead and swapped the bush hog for the winch. Only issue I’ve had with the winch is it sometimes bottoms out when crossing ditches and the creek crossings. The 3 point lift...

    Daily Chuckle

Few years ago, my father and I were getting an old on road trailer that had graduated to old off road trailer back to a usable state. The trailer frame was his final project in a college welding class. All it needed was tires and hubs greased, but the wheel studs were hopelessly frozen. After...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Did a little mowing on the sewer line. Been trying to leave it be for the most part to let it recover from the county doing everything possible with bush hog on a CTL to make a mess of it on a muddy, muddy day a couple years ago. Before that, we had a pretty good variety of forbs and grasses...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

If you can find a leveling box with the right range of travel, they’re the next best thing to a hydraulic side link in my experience. Had one on the 9N I grew up running. Even as a kid, I could easily adjust it with one hand whether I was standing on the ground or still sitting in the seat where...

Story of an Old Rotary Cutter

I don’t know much about value system dysfunction but I agree the thought process was incarcerating. In hindsight it was pretty clear God sat him down in solitary confinement (literally, thanks to COVID) until he worked through some stuff he’d been running from since he was a little kid. The last...

    Gearbox repair for FMC sidewinder

If it’s stuck, it’s likely because a PTO shaft with no grease on the spline was put on the tractor PTO which was also ungreased. Leave it outside for a while to add some moisture and it’s stuck. Assuming that’s what you’re dealing with, do NOT beat on it. Hitting it is a great way to bust...

Story of an Old Rotary Cutter

I should have included in the timeline, my Dad did get his knee replacement after 11 months in skilled inpatient care, partly due to COVID restrictions. He came home for about a year and lived quite independently prior to a short illness that resulted in his passing in July 2022. During the 11...

Story of an Old Rotary Cutter

Ran fine with no issues until last time I used it. Tail wheel fork rotates only about 50% of the time when turning. If it isn’t swiveling, it’s dragging the wheel sideways, plowing a little gouge in the grass. Not cool. I could blame myself for not greasing it, but with the huge gap, don’t how...

Story of an Old Rotary Cutter

This is what it looked like the first time I needed it after I was granted permission to touch it. April 2020. Dad was in inpatient rehab needing a knee replacement. Before taking it out, asked him if it needed anything or was it ready to go. He said it should be good to go so I hooked up and...

Story of an Old Rotary Cutter

Sometime in the 10 years between my leaving home and building a house about 100 yards from my parents and brother, my father bought a used 5’ rotary cutter (bush hog) that looked like it had a pretty rough life before he got it. That would put his ownership originating somewhere between 1985 and...

    Loaded tire fluid level

Yes, but it’s also normal to get a little squirt of fluid when you first pop open the Schrader valve even if the valve is above the fluid level. If you get a continuous stream with the valve at 12 o’clock, that would be abnormal for properly filled tires.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Got back to working on cleaning up the mess I asked the contractor to leave after the two abandoned wells were closed. The concrete and brick I hauled off a few days ago amounted to a bit over a cubic yard. Not too shocking that left a dirt deficit of a bit over a cubic yard when I started...

Get rid of yellow jacket nest above ground?

This may be useless, but if: You can reasonably get to the nest by opening a lid on a deck box or removing a couple boards AND; You have access to a full bee suit such as used with honey bees; Suit up good and tear into them. By “suit up good” I mean duct tape coverall pant legs to boots...

If you’re referring to the knob in the picture below, it controls the drop rate of the 3 point. Has no effect on rate it raises. If completely closed, it will prevent the lift from dropping. If it’s never been turned, it could be stuck. If you’re referring to something else, a picture would...
