    Hydraulic Top Link Kit

@GrumpyFarmer made a really good point in post #12. “The top link does go off and on really easy, so if you just have an implement that you don’t need the top link with it’s no hassle to swap the link out.” And in post #11. “… it’s a real game changer once connected. IMO the juice is worth the...

    Hydraulic Top Link Kit

I normally have my top link attached to the float valved remote. No check valves. From the standpoint of a bush hog pushing and pulling on it over undulating ground, it moves very easily in float. From the standpoint of an average strength 220lb, 58 yr old man pushing and pulling it, there’s a...

    Do I really need ?

I seem to recall you mentioned in a recent thread you’d considered a PTO generator. If you go that route, I’d suggest checking out an IMD with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR). When I bought mine, the folks I dealt with in South Carolina were very helpful and easy to deal with. They’re a day...

    Hydraulic Top Link Kit

Sounds like you aren’t running a quick hitch. I run hydraulic top link and side link without a quick hitch on my L, but I don’t have a cab. Kind of suspect most folks running hydraulic 3 point adjusters on cab tractors also run quick hitches if they hitch without a helper. Seems like it would...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I think your Schwaben is a step or two above my Maddox. Read the instructions a few times because it seemed too easy; like I was missing something. But no, it’s really that easy. Aside from likely not holding up long under routine use by a real mechanic, the only thing I didn’t like about the...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Took the loader off, removed coolant, ran a flush, and refilled. First time using a vacuum filler. Not a tool I anticipate using frequently so I cheaped out with a Harbor Freight “Maddox”. It worked perfectly. I was glad I measured the radiator fill tube opening and overflow tank opening before...

    Interesting 3-pt repair and question

Definitely don’t have clearance for a PTO shaft U-joint. You might have enough clearance for a PTO extender or over run clutch. Even if that made the PTO accessible, it’s kind of a bodged workaround to compensate for a prior bodged repair. But it’s cheap, easy, and if it doesn’t work you could...

    Hunting and game posts

White tail bow season opened here a couple weeks ago. Last week I modified the elevated box blind my father built about 20 years ago to have a removable panel on one side big enough to allow crossbow use and still have a smaller panel within the big panel to allow for just a gun port in gun...

    Baumalight PTO Generator

I’m not the electrical brainiac some on here are so I’m not sure I could explain the dirty power thing very well. I know part of it is sine wave v square wave or clipped wave or something. Some electronics don’t like anything other than sine wave. That and there’s a pretty standard frequency and...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Took off the grapple and put on the bucket so I could go deer hunting for the first time this season. Figured if I get everything ready to bring one home, I probably won’t see anything other than groundhogs and squirrels, but last time I got one up with the grapple the horns got tangled up in...

    #1 missed maintenance item

Is there a treatment that stabilizes bio-diesel?

    Baumalight PTO Generator

Nice! Some people don’t like PTO generators. I’m not one of them. Our electric utility is quite reliable but once in a while… We had an average quality 7500W “contractor” type generator for years. Output is probably pretty dirty. Could run the oil furnace and freezers/refrigerators off drop...

    Excessive 'dieseling'

https://youtube.com/shorts/2mBqk6XL5tM?si=NRri-Rw1vOBUWzdW Haven’t done this many times so hopefully I did it correctly. Sounded like you started at idle, so that’s what I did with mine. Idling or pulling hard, there’s no mistaking the engine is a diesel. I’ve never overheated mine and the way...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Did a bit of cleanup around the houses and chipped the limbs and a couple small dead trees by our private road. Also picked up trash on our public road frontage. That had nothing to do with the Kubota’s though. I don’t quite understand why folks chuck their McDonald's meal deal remnants out the...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I relatively sure that question wasn’t serious, but serious answer: in some limited circumstances that can work. My brother and I co-own a couple of implements and share more equipment than we co-own. Probably would do more of that than we do now if we lived closer than 2 hours apart. It allows...

    Excessive 'dieseling'

Disclaimer: there are people on this forum and in this thread that know WAY more about this topic than I do so if they disagree, listen to them. Hesitant starting and rough idling on a diesel after a possible but not confirmed overheat, a compression check might be in order if you’re concerned...

    I did something real dumb

There should be a shoulder on the bolt. The shoulder has to be a little thicker than the blade and the hole in the blade has to be a slip fit on the shoulder for the blade to swing like it’s supposed to. Kind of doubt you could get the nut on at all if you somehow didn’t get the bolt’s shoulder...

    TRAILER SAFETY CHAINS

So now that you’re in the thread, do you cross your chains or not? 🤣

    Excessive 'dieseling'

1.5 gallons: Wow! That’s near all of it! Hopefully no damage done. Not unusual for coolant temp sensors to not read accurately and therefore not show hot when they’re dry (no longer in the coolant due to extreme coolant loss).
