    BX1870-1 Block Heater

Block heater is probably better, but only marginally. Hose heater is a pain to install, though! Working it tight quarters with short lengths of radiator hose. For what it's worth, I ran the power cord through the "firewall" and let it rest on the battery. I have to take the front screen off...

    BX1870-1 Block Heater

Hi Ramos. I have a BX1860. Engine is, I think, identical to your 1870. I, too, tried to find an in-block heater and was frustrated to be unable to find one. I used to have a different machine with the same D722 engine and it had a block heater in the front of the engine. I thought I "beat...

    GR2020 Mower Deck

For what it's worth, I've used both kinds and there's not a huge difference. It's marginally better with the wheels that rotate, but you still have to do a good bit of maneuvering, grunting, etc. As OBKubota said, you'll never damage the wheels with occasional installation/removal of the deck.

    60" deck on a BX1860/1870 - it works!

Thought another update is in order. Not sure if anybody needs it but I've benefited from some of the obscure things folks on OTT take the time to record. :) Mid-September now and I can definitively say the idea that a 60" deck is too big for the BX1860 is hogwash. I've used it all season and...

Fabbed adapter to use GCK60-BX grass catcher with newer BX tractor

Just lucky that the ends are the correct sizes. The larger end fits the square tubing well and the smaller end nests pretty nicely in the top link.

Fabbed adapter to use GCK60-BX grass catcher with newer BX tractor

Found a great deal on a GCK60-BX grass catcher and knew it was made for older series BX tractors. Figured I could fab something up, or sell it if unable. To my delight, it was easier than I thought! If you have a GCK60-BX grass catcher, but a newer BX (not sure where the change was, but...

Got My Titan Pallet Forks Today

RCW: what forks did you order? Even the smaller Titan ones might be overkill for a little BX.

    Bx 3 inch wheel spacers!

Really good upgrade. Cheaper, too, than the Kubota ones. Any issues with a belly mower? Looks like you use a pull-behind so maybe you don't know.

    Mower clogged

Get your mower running, THEN please tell us more about this chicken poop fiasco! Pictures would (maybe) be great. It seems unlikely that is really the culprit, but who knows? As laconbea said, check the air filter. Is it clogged? No other way for chicken poop, feathers, or anything else to...

Rear Main seal Leak - L4240

If it is your rear main seal and you are looking to get by until you can do a better fix, you might consider adding stop leak to your crank case. I've used Blue Devil Rear Main Seal Stop Leak in the past and was impressed. I had a leak that sounded about like what you describe. Added the stop...

    Zerk fitting help, please.

I've had trouble matching Kubota zerks in the past, even with metric assortments. Thread pitch wasn't identical. I've got several I've robbed off Kubota machines and decks over the years. Pm me an address and I'll drop a couple in the mail to you.

    MMM bolt size

Every Kubota blade bolt but one I've worked on has a 30mm head. Buy the 30mm and if it doesn't work, you're only out a few $$ for a cheap HF purchase (and they'll let you return it). It'll work, I'll bet.

    Engine to transmission drive shaft

Hi PatDaddy. If you're somewhat mechanically able, replacing the drive shaft is not too difficult. You'll have to strip the machine of all the sheet metal and then get at it from the top. It takes a while but most of the time will be spent figuring out how everything comes apart and then goes...

    F2400 mower

If the symptoms were unchanged after you switched out the controller it's unlikely to be related to the issue. The controller does, among other things, control the panel functions. Easiest, and most obvious, would be a fuse. Next would be a loose or corroded ground wire, although I'm not sure...

D722 Engine Question - Puffing Smoke and Oil out of the breather hose

Compression test will be very informative. Just FYI, when I was doing a compression test on a D722 it was a challenge to avoid buying a proprietary Kubota tester. I had a thread on here that you might want to find. None of the tester kits I could find had an adapter that would work. I ended...

Help I need a mower deck gearbox!

What do you mean by "cratered"? Could you post a couple of pictures? It might be possible to repair the gear box. Sometimes as easy as replacing oil seals. On the other end of the spectrum, it might not be repairable if the bevel gears, shafts, and bearings are welded together or otherwise...
