Would you buy the same tractor again or a different one?

This L3800 is my 3rd Kubota. There are times I wish it had more lifting ability. It's essentially the same machine as my previous L3400 sans backhoe. Would I buy the same tractor again? Well, I pretty much did. Today I'd buy 2, one a little bigger (probably MX) and one smaller (BX??).

    Autumn

Very windy here yesterday - took almost all the leaves down from the large hickories but the oaks are hanging on. Used to really like riding (mc) up to Vermont this time of year in the 70-80's. Then traffic got too busy to enjoy.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Service day today. Oil & filter, fuel filter and full greasing. It took a lot longer than I remember doing it last time :) Why is it I can never do a servicing without spilling something on the floor?

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Today was the day for chipping the load of branches I pulled down and the small parts of a tree I dropped last month. Having the chipper on a dolly makes life good when mounting it: Before - I had pushed most of the branches into the woods but some were covering some implements and after...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yesterday I resolved an issue I had with tree branches rubbing against the guys for my new tower. I used an 'antenna launcher' - similar to a spud gun but shoots a 2oz lead sinker - to get a fishing line over several branches that needed to come down. Used that line to pull up a 1" line that...

    My new (used) Kubota L3200

Very nice looking tractor. Good luck with it! About 5 years ago I picked up a used L3800, pretty much the same machine. It had just over 250 hours on it. Its been great for me and now has just over 600 hours.

    Snow removal

Every commercial plow guy I used over the last 30 years, for a building I owned in another town, had a rate sheet based on the number of inches in the storm. I did change providers a couple of times when their snow depth seemed really out of whack for some storms.

    Daily Chuckle

My wife has never forgiven me for this and its been about 6 years now. . . I got a remote controlled mouse (she claims it was the size of a rat). Carefully placed behind the toilet in our bathroom. I waited about 2 minutes after she went in and pushed the remote into forward, full speed. Let's...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

It's really easy (after a little lot of practice) The gin pole (a 14' long, 2" od, 1/4" wall aluminum tube with a welded on pulley at one end) is clamped to a tower leg as high as possible on the last installed section. The 1st section was installed 3-1/2' into the ground in a concrete block...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Well, I dragged out this project as long as I could :) Today My son Jed and I put up the 6th and final section of the new tower. He did all the work. I was on the tractor and he was on the tower. Pretty uneventful - just what I like in tower erections. Pulling up the 6th section: section...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yesterday my son climbed the tower and i was on the tractor pulling up the 6th and final section. All went really well until we realized I had attached the pull rope too high on that section and he wasn't able to maneuver it over the previous one and bolt it up :( Ended up dropping it back to...

    Looking for some "machine advice"

I was gifted a large air compressor at the old house. It came with a 7-1/2hp 3ph motor. It was easier for me to fine a single phase motor to convert it. I am not familiar with the machines you are looking at but if there is only a single 3ph motor, it might be easier to just convert the motor

    Some small amount of justice

    Winter Prep Already?!?!

My winter prep started here also. We loaded my 55 gallon drum / diesel tank onto my son's pickup & filled it at the local gas station ($3.29 / gal). Added some Sta-Bil and Opti-Lube to it all. Should be enough fuel until next spring. I have it stored on a rolling drum dolly. Used the forks to...
