PTO Gear lever will not move

i have an HST L2501. This issue is common though never had the lever stick but the cable in the housing. Get some lubricant with a nozzle “straw”. Put the straw where the cable goes into the shielding. And spray liberally. Go to opposite end and spray up that end too (not easy to access)...

Perhaps this is common knowledge for MX owners ....

L2501 has the same 7mm plug. I must be lucky as it just took a simple open end wrench when I removed it at my 50 hour maintenance.

    Fuel Filter stuff

No. The owner owns the place. He likely has a keen business mind. May be original owner or handed down. But being the owner and knowing the equipment doesn’t have to go hand in hand.

    Kubota l2501

The background of the sight glass is pure white. If it appears straw colored (any shade other than pure white) you are likely viewing the fluid. mine has a small bubble at top as someone else mentioned when level.. To be sure, i parked it on an incline (lower on right) and could see the line.

    PTO shroud

My L2501 has one that flips up. When I first got it the thing wouldn’t budge. I took a wrench and loosened the two bolts. Sprayed some lube on each and retightened but not as tight as they were. it requires a bit of effort but it easily moves up and down and stays where positioned.

    PTO not disengageing

Get some spray lubricant with straw nozzle and spray it into the cable housing where the cable enters. Spray both ends. With the engine off move the lever back and forth from engaged to disengaged multiple times. Should free it up. Common problem on this model. Worked for me. I spray mine...

L2501 oil change at 200 or 400 hours?

I have the same tractor as OP. I change the oil and filter every 50 hours. I just passed 150 hours. Took about 14 months each to get to 50 and 100 so a bit over a year between changes. Took far less than a year for the last 50. And, I expect that to be the more expected time frame now. I...

    After market filters

I‘m sure as someone said, some may be better, some likely worse. I don’t question it. The savings I may get by buying another brand is not worth it if it fails and I have to pay for an engine or new tractor. I know Kubota doesn‘t make filters or oil. However, if they put their name on either...

    We are no longer dry

After two months of nothing but high temps I would settle for spit. Congrats to those getting it and prayers for those getting too much.

    We are no longer dry

Glad someone is getting rain but I don’t wish anyone to get flooded, either. Last time my land in central Texas saw rain was 0.19” the week of June 4. Pretty much upper 90’s to 100’s since then, too. We get this every summer for a week or two but never this long. Stare at the dry grass...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I’ll have to find some that show the whole rigging and a game shot or two - and figure out how to load them. 🙃

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I have two 50 gallon (plastic) troughs buried so that lip is about 2 in. above ground level. Each trough has a 275 gal IBC tote off to the side as a supply reservoir w/ small screened funnel (screen prevents mosquito breeding in tote) to capture rain. More for laughs, especially now, as the...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Moved 350 gallons of water from my well to the two troughs I have out for wildlife. We are going through major drought No measurable rain on my property in over a month and none in forecast for the upcoming week . The seasonal pond I have dried up two weeks back and does with little fawns...

    Brand New Kubota won’t run

Tuesday is just two sunrises away. Like others have said, let it set were it is and call the dealer when they open. Don’t want to create a bigger issue than may already exist. That is what warranties are for.

    L2501 HST basic operation questions

Roadworthy covered it well but he mentioned when engaging the FWD depressing the clutch may help. The manual says you must depress the clutch before engaging the FWD lever. Enjoy the tractor - great machine.

    Credit Card BS...

Oops! I‘d blame it on fat fingers but just bonehead mistake in my thoughts. With Citi 1 point = $0.01. It hasn’t changed anything. What I had in dollars before is now in points X 100. You can still cash the points in and redeem as cash to your bank account if you wish. This is the only...

    Credit Card BS...

Yes, Citi went to points (1 pt = $1). Not sure why they do it but you can still request to get cash sent to your bank account (I cash mine in when it reaches $1k) or you can use it to offset your balance. I pay in full so no running balance (I won’t give them interest). Or, you can use points...

The right way to engage pto

L2501 HST here, idle speed, step on clutch, flip pto lever to engage, ease off clutch. Once mower is up to speed and stable, ramp up to mower RPM and start mowing. Pretty much reverse steps for disengage - Lower RPM, step on clutch, flip pto lever to disengage, let off clutch.

    PTO shaft too wobbly?

One other thing you may want to check while looking under it for stuck blades See if you hit something that bent (or broke) a blade A bent or broken blade will throw off balance and create a shudder.
