MX 6000 Ballast, Multi Seal and spacer questions.

Time for an update. I can't find anyone to provide Rimguard. Green and Sons seem very nice and I will probably use them but they use Caliber 1000 for liquid ballast and it looks like it's a magnesium chloride solution. With tubeless tires, I'm concerned about damaging the wheels. Should I be? I...

    I'll look into that. Thanks.

MX 6000 Ballast, Multi Seal and spacer questions.

OK, but it will be later. Probably won't be back in barn today. I'll post the pic if I go back down there after dinner or definitely by tomorrow.

MX 6000 Ballast, Multi Seal and spacer questions.

I checked am right at 72" to the outside of the rubber now, so 2.5" spacers should be OK and I would like as much more stability as possible. But thanks for mentioning that!

MX 6000 Ballast, Multi Seal and spacer questions.

I'm on my second Ventrac. They really are like Billy goats. I really wish I could plant with it. I have almost 800 hours on this '19 bought new and all I do is mow and blow leaves with it. Even if they had to size the notill down to 36" for weight restrictions to still have enough weight over...

MX 6000 Ballast, Multi Seal and spacer questions.

My place is very hilly and there are some areas I would like to food plot but am very concerned about driving on it with the Kubota. I contacted Ventrac to see if they would ever produce a front mount no till drill but I think that's unlikely. Too bad because that thing can go anywhere on our...

MX 6000 Ballast, Multi Seal and spacer questions.

I would be happy to use my dealer but they don't do wheels and tires (?). I was surprised but they outsource all wheel and tire work to a place (even further away) that doesn't have a mobile service. Again, good point about trailer width.

MX 6000 Ballast, Multi Seal and spacer questions.

Thanks! I've bookmarked their site. That's a good point about trailer width - I'll have to measure. I do all of my own "easy" maintenance (greasing, oil, filters, hydraulics) but do realize it may need to go back to the dealer some day. The 50 hour was super easy - everything within reach.

Thanks; I'll give them a call. They look to be less than 2 hours from me.

MX 6000 Ballast, Multi Seal and spacer questions.

Also, if anyone can recommend a mobile tire service company in or around central Ohio that is capable of this, please let me know. Our barn is heated with a concrete floor and good lighting. Working in it is not unpleasant.

MX 6000 Ballast, Multi Seal and spacer questions.

MX 6000 with R14s (tubeless). Over winter I want to add spacers as well as ballast and MultiSeal for liquid ballast tires (and regular MultiSeal in fronts). My questions are: 1. Which ballast? I looked into Rimgard beet juice but there are no dealers anywhere around me that offer mobile...

    MX5400 or MX6000?

I would like (at least I think I would like) longer bottom tines for scooping under branches but the one I got saved a TON of work during the storm clean up, so I'm not going to complain. I added 2"x4" wire mesh to the top and bottom tines to help keep smaller sticks from sliding through. It...

    MX5400 or MX6000?

Yes, I went no till this year after watching Dr. Grant's video series on his farm in the Ozarks. I expect it will be a little tough the first few years and still used glyphosphate this past summer but hope to get to no spray/no fertilize within 3-4 years. I ended up trading my Woods tiller and...

    MX5400 or MX6000?

I should add I'm a very casual user. 60 acre hobby farm we live on. Deer food plots (SAYA 507), brush hogging and I used the grapple A LOT cleaning up after June's F1 that went right over us. Even with that really unpleasant week or two, I just did the 50 hour maintenance in October (I think)...

    MX5400 or MX6000?

I can't help on the traction but found that the R1s made a huge mess with deep ruts in mud for me. If it was wet and they broke through the turf I knew I would regret mowing over that spot every time going forward.

    MX5400 or MX6000?

I didn't know you could add spacers to the wheels. What brand did you use and is 2" max? I had a Grand L with a cab and R4s and really didn't like it. But I probably blamed the tires too much when my real main problem was the high center of gravity caused by the cab. Had it less than a year and...

    MX5400 or MX6000?

World of difference for me. Have not been in mud though, so can't comment on that. Otherwise they feel more stable (tread width/footprint) and are without a doubt easier on turf. Still very glad I paid for the change over. Now I'm looking for a Rim Guard dealer with a mobile service but can't...

Perhaps this is common knowledge for MX owners ....

I'm sure it will be much easier in the future. Mine had a lot of paint covering it that was making it stick at first.

Perhaps this is common knowledge for MX owners ....

Very helpful; thanks. Just did the 50 hour on mine and completely missed that. Struggled a little with the nut but got it off OK. Didn't take much grease to have it come out the check hole, so that's good.
