Need a heavy duty tow hitch

Just purchased a new Toyota Tundra with 10,000 lb. towing capacity. I have an L3800 with a FEL and will be pulling it on a 22' dual axle trailer with a 2" ball. Looking for suggestions on brands of adjustable drop/rise hitches with dual or triple balls. Thanks.

    Trailer for L3800

Going to breakdown and get a trailer for my L3800. It will be a regular type not a gooseneck. I'll probably get a 20' so I can haul it with the disk and loader attached. I'm just looking for suggestions... like should I get removable ramps or the ones that are hinged, short sides or no sides...

    What is this thing? L3800

I sank my tractor last week and was greasing everything when I noticed this nut that has a little rod going through it. Can someone tell me the purpose of this thing? Thanks [/IMG]

    Stuck

Buried my rig yesterday and had to leave it over night. After several failed attempts we were lucky to locate a guy with a 15,000 lb. winch. What a pain. [/IMG]

Who do you let drive your tractor (unsupervised)?

Old man I know told me don't ever let anyone drive your tractor...they will tear it up.

Is it normal for hydraulic fluid to get low over time

I've got an L3800 HST 4x4 with a FEL. I haven't noticed any leaks but I had to add about a quart of fluid. I put a level on the floor in front of the seat to make sure the tractor was level. I only have 73 hours on it. Is this normal or is it likely that I have an actual leak? Thanks

    5' or 6' grader blade?

I've got an L3800 and plan to do some road maintenance. My goal is to restore the crown in the roads at my camp and fill in the ruts. We've got a lot of dirt piled on the sides that's preventing water from running off. I found a 5' grader for $150 but I'm afraid it'll be too short if I turn it...

    Close Call

Bad weather at the camp the other night. Tree fell and barely missed my tractor. Man was I lucky.

    BXpanded Tool Box Installed

Installed my new BXpanded tool box yesterday. Plan on keeping my hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves and all other smaller items in it. I installed it myself but it would have been quicker with two people. As you can see My ROPS is not lacking in decorations. I also have a fire...

    New fire extinguisher mount

I purchased this Moose ATV fire extinguisher mount. It fit perfectly on my ROPS. I was on the tractor all day and it held up nicely. FWIW, I also included a pic of the shot gun shell pouch that I also attached to my ROPS. I've got one on each side. They're great for extra pins, sunscreen...

    Bush Hog HP Requirements

I have an L3800 HST and the HP at the PTO is approximately 30. I found a used bush hog and the manufacturer's website states that it's not recommended for tractors exceeding 30 HP but it has a 40 HP gear box. Do you think the mfg is referring to the HP at the PTO or the engine? They are closed...

18" or 20" blades new disk?

I'm about to purchase a new 5' adjustable disk for food plotting. I want sealed bearings and scalloped blades. The dealer has an 18" and a 20" in stock. The 20" is like $100 more. Is the extra $100 worth it for the 20's?

Landplane grader OK for dirt roads?

The dirt roads at my camp need some maintenance. We've got pot holes, ruts and bumps that need to be fixed. We do not have any red clay. They are a sandy material and are packed for the most part. Will a grader like this do the trick? I always see these in discussion about gravel roads but not...

    Piranha Tooth Bar Digging Pics

Just a few pics of some work I did with my PTB today. I dug a few ditches and used the dirt to build a berm to divert runoff at my camp. Before I purchased my PTB, I couldn't find any pics or videos of it digging. The word on the street was that it would dig and I found out for myself that it...

cultipacker - does it cover the seed?

I understand that a cultipacker is used to break up clods, level and prepare the seed bed. It also grooves the soil to help hold moisture. We normally disk, level and broadcast wheat and oats. After seeding, we lightly pull the disk back over the plot with a pole behind the disk to cover. If...

    Straping points on L3800 W/FEL

I've got to take my tractor to the dealer for it's 50 hour service. Where should I attach the straps for trailering? I have a brush guard on the front and thought I'd attach the straps there. Not so sure about the back. Thanks

    L3800 - What Size Disk

I've got an L3800 HST, 4x4, FEL and R1 tires. I have a 4' disk but I'm going to purchase a larger one this Spring. Is a 6' adjustable disk too big for my rig? I have been leaning towards a 5' because I don't want to overload my tractor. What are you pulling with your L3800 and how does it...

Disk Harrow - What type of bearings?

I've got a small 4' disk with friction bearings. I picked it up for $350 on craigslist for food plotting and to simply learn on. Now, I've decided to get a bigger disk but I'm trying to decide what type of bearings I want to get on the new one. My axles don't turn as smoothly as my uncle's...

Can I go 55-60 hours before my forst serveice?

I've got an L3800 HST. I just hit 50 hours and it is due for it's first service. I'm trying to schedule a time the dealer can come pick it up. It may be a while before they can get up my way. Should I just let the tractor sit or can I continue to use it as normal? What say ye

    Lifting Rod Won't Stay Tight

The right lifting rod on my 3PH kept getting loose today. I tightened the locking nut with a wrench but it kept working itself loose. I was covering seed with my disk and was not in the float position. I was in in the 5-6 position. Could this have been the problem?
