B2601 Warranty Expiring ($500 to extend for a year?). Pass, right?

Dealer mailed me a "special deal" offer on a 1yr warranty extension for $500 instead of $750. Has anyone regretted passing on the 3rd year warranty extension? 2022 B2601 w/ 150 hours.

It’s About Dang Time… for Gray Pencil Findability.

and to answer your Q: I rattle canned (#3) the thing, then I ordered the can (#4) to jam into the crannies.

It’s About Dang Time… for Gray Pencil Findability.

Analysis: Majic: senseless. Stupid dry times, like 24+ hours PER THIN COAT. Should have read about it online before buying it to try to face $6 over the Rustoleum. Major waste of time. Krylon: THIN coats. Dries fine. But 7 well-shaken coats on steel == transparent orange. (On white...

File this in the “shouldda done this a long time ago” category. Any other usability hacks I’m probably overlooking?

Multi-Metal Rust Risk? Should I just weld this sucker?

Oh, you'd be surprised. The process is simpler than the internet makes it sound: 1) get over your fear (without qualified reason) 2) bend it (without maths), 3) realize it doesn't work, 4) re-bend it, 5) straighten it a bit to undo your bend, causing metal fatigue that'll surely wreck your...

Multi-Metal Rust Risk? Should I just weld this sucker?

This is the perfect answer. I have the one w/ the wheels, and it's just too clumsy for the workbench tops. This is perfect. Thanks!

Multi-Metal Rust Risk? Should I just weld this sucker?

Can that press punch 1/4 holes in 1/4 steel? I make a lot of brackets and plates and stuff for projects around the house and yard. They just don’t make brackets as obscure as I feel they should! But in my shop (2-car garage attached to our kitchen), those drill shavings become a sore subject...

Multi-Metal Rust Risk? Should I just weld this sucker?

whoa! What kind of footprint, realistically, does that take up? And how easily moveable is it? Suddenly I’m re-analyzing my space using this technique 😉 to see if I can a way to squeeze it in.

Multi-Metal Rust Risk? Should I just weld this sucker?

The heebie jeebies became serious... Since I plan on using the hooks to drag heavy rocks around (heavier than the bucket can lift) occasionally, I decided to beef up the support on the ends, which were previously pulling against the BB weld. @06B3030 and @GreensvilleJay got me thinking...maybe...

Multi-Metal Rust Risk? Should I just weld this sucker?

Ahhh - the "plate" is a triangular contraption w/ some angle iron & a bunch of ribs welded inside. That's not really shown in the pics. Does that kind of accomplish what you're talking about? Edit: here you can see the angle iron sticking out to get the gist:

Multi-Metal Rust Risk? Should I just weld this sucker?

Good points all around. Below are pics from the initial tests. Sure enough, now that I SEE it and USE it, I have a long list of things to make it "proper" 😅 one of them being to add significant support to the tractor-side of the assembly to avoid backwards-curlage, which I think is the same...

We’ll that’s exactly the challenge I need to avoid completely half-assing this project. Thanks!

this may be a good argument for welding instead of bolting. Maybe I can add some stabilizer arms of C channel off to the back. At least what I think you’re saying is that there may be a problem with forward to backward rotational forces, or whatever the engineers call that.

Ah yes, I spotted you & this project on a secondary binge today! Nice work and good point. Did you flux mig that?
